🇺🇸 U.S. TRUCKING — KEY INDUSTRY UPDATES
🚨 Federal Regulations Are Tightening
The U.S. trucking industry continues to face major regulatory changes that could impact drivers, carriers and freight capacity.
🗣 ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
Federal enforcement of English Language Proficiency requirements for commercial drivers is becoming a major focus as regulators push for stricter compliance.
📟 ELD CRACKDOWN
FMCSA continues removing non-compliant ELD devices from its registered list.
In 2026 alone, multiple rounds of ELD removals have taken place, with carriers required to replace revoked devices with compliant ones.
🪪 NON-DOMICILED CDL CHANGES
New federal rules have tightened requirements for non-domiciled CDL and CLP holders. States that cannot meet the updated requirements must pause issuing these credentials until they are compliant.
⚠️ WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE INDUSTRY
Stricter enforcement could mean:
• More compliance pressure on carriers
• Increased attention on driver credentials
• ELD replacement costs
• Potential impacts on available trucking capacity
🚛 The U.S. trucking regulatory landscape is changing fast.

Key violations included:
• 📋 Logbook / HOS violations

📦 CARGO THEFT: THIEVES SHIFTING TARGETS
Overall cargo theft volumes are reportedly slowing as truck capacity tightens. However, organized theft rings are changing tactics.
🎯 High-value data center equipment is becoming a major target, leading to significantly larger financial losses per incident.
🇺🇸 Safety enforcement and cargo security remain major concerns across the U.S. trucking industry.
