New Tax Law Update – 12 Aug 2025
Parliament Passes New Income Tax Bill, 2025
Today, the Rajya Sabha cleared the New Income Tax Bill, 2025 by voice vote and returned it to the Lok Sabha. With this, both Houses of Parliament have approved the Bill.
📌 Next Step: The Bill now goes to the President of India for assent. Once signed, it will officially become the Income Tax Act, 2025 and take effect from 1 April 2026 (FY 2026–27).
📣 Exam Alert (CA / CS / CMA) – From May 2027 attempts onwards, your syllabus will be based on this NEW Income Tax law. Avoid classes based on the old Income-tax Act, 1961 if your attempt is in May 2027 or later.
