We are saddened to hear of the passing of the beloved mother of our teacher, Shaykh Abu Sa’ad Muhammad, may Allah grant him and his family patience.
We ask Allah to forgive her, have mercy upon her, pardon her shortcomings, expand and illuminate her grave, protect her from the trials and punishment of the grave, and grant her the highest ranks of Jannatul Firdaws.
We kindly request our brothers and sisters to remember her in their sincere supplications.

| 9 | 📣 Important Community Notice
Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Since news reports concerning Masjid Daar Al-Hadeeth began circulating on 29 September, the masjid has received a significant number of hostile emails, online reviews and concerning messages, including threats. The police have also attended the masjid in connection with the situation.
We want to assure our community that we are taking these developments very seriously. In light of what has been received, we ask all brothers and sisters attending the masjid to remain vigilant and immediately report anything suspicious or concerning to the masjid administration.
We will also be contacting the relevant authorities, including the Home Office, to discuss the situation and determine what additional security measures and support can be provided for the protection of our congregation and premises.
Madrasah Opening:
Our Madrasah was due to begin this Monday. However, given the present circumstances, we do not feel it would be responsible to begin classes involving children until the situation has been properly assessed and we have consulted with the relevant local authorities.
The start of the Madrasah will therefore be temporarily postponed until further notice. We will update parents as soon as we are satisfied that the appropriate arrangements are in place.
Our Position:
Those who have known our masjid and followed our work over the years will know that we do not promote or encourage violence in any form. On the contrary, we have consistently been at the forefront of speaking against terrorism, extremism and extremist ideologies.
Our lectures and publications contain numerous examples of us warning against and refuting groups and methodologies that we believe contribute to extremism and political violence.
We are therefore deeply concerned by attempts to portray the masjid as promoting violence. We are also aware of serious allegations being circulated concerning our treatment of women and statements attributed to speakers who have attended the masjid. We categorically reject the allegation that Masjid Daar Al-Hadeeth promotes domestic violence, abuse, or violence against women.
A Request to Our Community:
Unfortunately, a number of negative reviews have also appeared online following the media coverage. Some contain allegations which we believe do not accurately represent the masjid or the community people know and attend.
If you have genuinely attended the masjid or had experience with us, and you wish to share your experience, we would appreciate you leaving an honest review (Masjid Daar Al-Hadeeth https://share.google/uVrUCnol1I1kma3Av). This will allow members of the public who do not know us personally to hear directly from people who actually know the masjid and its work.
We have already reported reviews that we believe breach the relevant platform rules. If you come across such content, you may also report it directly to the platform where appropriate.

The lecture, titled “Good Character & Its Impact on Calling to Allah”, will be delivered via telelink by Shaykh Dr. Muhammad An-Nuristani (may Allah preserve him).
A beneficial reminder on the importance of good character in da’wah and the profound effect that excellent manners can have when calling others to the religion of Allah.

| 15 | Even simple practical matters demonstrate the same recurring pattern: brothers were criticised for having a bank account, only for a bank account to later be adopted; criticised for using CCTV in the masjid for the safety and security of the masjid and its attendees, yet later a Ring doorbell camera is used and a justification provided for it.
The recurring pattern: something is condemned when others have a legitimate need for it, but when the same or a similar need arises later, an explanation and justification suddenly becomes acceptable.
But time is more valuable than being consumed with documenting every example or entering endless exchanges.
The masjid’s greater priority is nurturing the community upon beneficial knowledge and connecting them to trustworthy scholars and mashaayikh. Those who sincerely study ilm upon sound foundations will, by the permission of Allah, learn to distinguish truth from falsehood, Sunnah from hizbiyyah, and legitimate scholarly disagreement from blameworthy partisanship.
Nor should anyone claim infallibility. When a genuine mistake becomes clear through evidence and the speech of the people of knowledge, retracting and clarifying it is praiseworthy.
But the consideration, nuance and generosity a person seeks for himself today should have been afforded to his brothers yesterday.

الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله، وعلى آله وصحبه ومن والاه، أمـا بـعـد…
Sometimes experience teaches a person what criticism from a distance never could…
It is easy to criticise those establishing and maintaining masaajid - their fundraising, charitable organisations and methods that remain within the boundaries of the Shari’ah - until one is placed in the same position and experiences the reality of rent, bills, maintenance and the constant pressure of sustaining a masjid.
But when brothers were previously warned against, labelled and accused of adopting the practices of the hizbiyoon over matters which are later adopted in a similar form, justice requires more than simply explaining the new position. It requires acknowledging what came before.
Hudhayfah ibn Al-Yaman رضي الله عنه said:
«اعلم أن الضلالة حق الضلالة أن تعرف ما كنت تنكر، وأن تنكر ما كنت تعرف، وإياك والتلون في دين الله تعالى فإن دين الله واحد»
“Know that true misguidance is that you recognise what you once rejected and reject what you once recognised. Beware of changing colours in the religion of Allah, for indeed the religion of Allah is one.”

These were matters that had been referred back to trustworthy scholars, with the realities and difficulties of sustaining masaajid in the West clearly explained.
Yet rather than allowing legitimate scholarly differences their proper place and maintaining the appropriate adab, answers were dismissed, reinterpreted or challenged. Shaykh Salim Al-Hilali, for example, was specifically asked about establishing a charitable organisation in the West and gave his answer accordingly, only for the matter to later be pursued further and presented differently with unrelated matters, in an attempt to obtain another conclusion for the issue of charity organisations.
Now, after the realities of sustaining a masjid have been experienced first-hand, terms such as “genuine needs,” “practical circumstances,” “nuance” and baseless distinctions between soliciting and merely facilitating donations have suddenly become relevant.
The question is: why was that same consideration not afforded to other Salafi brothers when they explained their circumstances and acted upon fatawa they had received from trustworthy mashaayikh?
Walaa’ wal baraa’ was applied over multiple issues, leading to division and a refusal to cooperate despite repeated attempts at private reconciliation.
Allah تعالى says:
﴿ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَأَصْلَحُوا وَبَيَّنُوا فَأُولَٰئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴾
“Except those who repent, rectify themselves and make clear…”
[Al-Baqarah: 160]
﴿ وَأَصْلَحُوا ﴾ — “and they rectified.”
﴿ وَبَيَّنُوا ﴾ — “and they made clear.”
If there is time for a lengthy public clarification explaining why a previously criticised practice is now understood differently, then there should also be room for a clear acknowledgement of the warnings, accusations, labels and division that resulted from the previous positions.
And this extends beyond fundraising. Matters of legitimate scholarly disagreement among Ahl As-Sunnah - including issues such as recording lessons and more - were turned into reasons for criticism and warning, often without the adab that should exist between brothers in matters of acceptable scholarly disagreement.
Despite years of criticism and scrutiny, those being spoken against largely chose not to turn their da'wah into an endless cycle of public responses. They remained occupied with teaching, establishing and serving their community.
Note: Silence should never be mistaken for an inability to respond. Sometimes circumstances themselves expose inconsistency more clearly than any response could.
Perhaps an entire book could be written documenting the contradictions, inconsistencies and manifestations of hizbiyyah, ghuluw and traits associated with Hadaadiyyah witnessed over the years. | 1 515 |
