I started doing code katas in order to improve my coding skills, and oh boy have they become non-existent😂 Apparently there is a difference between thinking something is simple, and doing said task. One kata was to find the number that repeats an odd number of times in an array of other numbers.
In my mind the main workflow to complete this kata was:
1. Create a dictionary/record that stores the number as a key, and how many times it repeats
2. Iterate through the dictionary and record to find which value has a modulo not equal to 0
3. Return that key
4. Profit
I spent 30 minutes trying to implement this logic. 30!!!!! I then did some searching online and asked AI how to implement stuff (without giving me the answer), and it's funny that my initial implementation was close to providing the required answers.
I know what I'll be doing with the rest of my year now😂
"Poetry"/Bars time:
I sit on the chair of cuckery watching my life get double teamed by employment and the economy 🥀
MMMMMM Bars?
What have I been doing this last month you may be asking. Well aside from restructuring the way I think (which I will be talking more about in the coming days),:
- Started working at a new company
- Hired as a backend developer (Holy W😭)
- Became a linux nigga (I have been missing out)
- Learned docker, prisma, and redis via work and personal project (dockerfile who? compose who? I haven't slept in ages)
- Got my first ever self-funded gpt plus subscription (GPT 5.5 is a beast plus extra tokens galore)
There are many more but these some of the more notable stuff that happened this month✌🏾
YUUUUUURRRRRR, GOOOODDDD MOORRNNIINNNGGGGG!!!!! GUESS WHO'S BACK!!!!!!
A new week full of new opportunities gang. You know how it goes. Go get your bread🔥🔥🔥
Well with that guys, I'm gonna head be gone for a month or so to take a step back and recharge. I have had a certain writer and mental block lately, and I want to make sure I figure it all out.
I know y'all will miss my goofy aah (doubt)😂 Until the next time gang🫡
Learning anything using AI has to be one of the most gaslighting experiences ever gang. Make sure to refer to the docs when learning anything new 🥀
First time installing and using fast node manager (fnm). Genuinely amazing how fast it is, and installing it actually taught me a lot of stuff. Rust really is amazing (fnm was built using rust)

If I had a dollar for every time someone used the waiter-kitchen analogy to describe how an API works, I'd have been retired by now
