📢 Day 2 | 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence✨ We continue our commitment to the global campaign to end Gender-Based Violence in all its forms. While this year’s theme highlights digital violence and online safety, we recognize that GBV remains a pervasive reality from femicide, physical and sexual abuse, child marriage, and economic exploitation, to the growing threats women and girls face online.🌍✍️ Our voice will not be silent. Our mission remains clear: to protect, empower, and advocate for women and children everywhere. Stay with us throughout the 16 days as we raise awareness, share knowledge, and amplify solutions. Together, we can break the cycle. 🧡✊

Somalia is taking an important step forward in the fight against violence against women and children ✍️ Just a few days ago, we spoke about the harsh realities women face being treated as “less,” overlooked because of clan dynamics, and too often denied justice. Today, we witnessed a shift. The government has shown willingness to act, and even though violence remains a serious and widespread issue, there is a glimpse of progress.✊✍️ Justice was served today for Saabirin 14 years girl who was brutally killed by her relative, her case is a reminder that every girl’s life matters and that accountability is possible when institutions choose to protect the vulnerable.✊🌍 We pray this momentum continues, and that Somalia and all the African countries become a place where women and children are safe, valued, and fully protected under the law.✊🌍✍️ #JusticeForSaabirin #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #ProtectChildren #GenderEquality #SomaliaProgress #EndFemicide #WomenRightsAreHumanRights #ChildProtection

Today, 21 November, the color purple fills our timelines on WhatsApp, TikTok, and across social media a symbol of unity, resistance, and collective power. As Empowering African Voice Organization (EAVO), we stand in firm solidarity with our sisters in South Africa, and with every woman across the continent facing gender-based violence, femicide, and discrimination. Though we are based in Ethiopia, our mission and our hearts extend across all African borders. Violence against women anywhere in Africa is a threat to women everywhere in Africa. This is not just a South African struggle. It is a continental cry. A call for justice, safety, dignity, and human rights. At EAVO, we commit to: ⭐ Amplifying the voices of survivors ⭐ Advocating for stronger protection systems ⭐ Educating communities ⭐ Creating safe spaces ⭐ Uniting African youth for change Because women’s rights are human rights, and protecting them is a responsibility we all share. 💜 #EndGBV 💜 #EndFemicide #WomenRightsAreHumanRights
