I've decided to discontinue the PIF project. Google is increasingly putting up more obstacles, and I no longer have as much time to dedicate to this as I used to. It's been a very interesting journey, and I've learned a lot. I thank everyone who has accompanied me and contributed to the project. But things seem to be getting worse, and Google is going to make it even harder to use its services (GMS) on devices with an unlocked bootloader. As an alternative, you can use PlayIntegrityFork. Farewell.

I'm honestly tired of all this, whenever someone manages to find something Google ends up screwing it up after a while. I had to lock the bootloader of my phone because it only gave me headaches. I'm seriously thinking about abandoning the project...

Some users have told me that there is a modified version of the PlayStore that allows you to pass BASIC + DEVICE. While it is a possible solution, it is temporary, Google can make the application obsolete and stop working. Not to mention that it is not open source, you do not know who has modified it and what it has in the code....

Modifying the SDK_INT field application-wide is what's causing problems. If there were some way to just spoof the value of that field for DroidGuard, that would be optimal. If anyone has any ideas on how to do this, please contact me.

Thanks everyone for the feedback you've given me. I've also tried the module on my POCO X3 Pro with the Derpfest custom ROM (Android 15) and it doesn't work for me. The main issues I've read about are these two: - Play Store crashes. - Play Store doesn't detect the Google account. (This is the one I'm experiencing). I'll keep investigating little by little and see what I can do... For now, the best option is to use TrickyStore with a valid keybox.

DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE ANDROID 12 OR LOWER UNSTABLE MODULE, EXPECT CRASHES!

Today I will release a beta version here with the workaround enabled by default, so users can give me feedback. I warn you that the module will be unstable and will not work for all of you. But worse is nothing...

https://github.com/Evolution-X/frameworks_base/commit/e439b67881899f9e3a7903df450c4b4f940bfbb2 https://github.com/Evolution-X/frameworks_base/commit/ff5851658a1ff6fd3e97218b229c80f1ef5a55be It seems that some custom ROMs are already implementing the workaround I talked about earlier. Let's hope it doesn't cause problems...

I'll repeat it as many times as necessary: most users want a simple, one-click solution. When you unlock your device's bootloader, you know what you're getting into. If you don't want to spend hours digging through forums and learning, then it's best not to do it. I think we all agree that what Google does is unfair, but it is what it is.

Is there any 100% effective and permanent method? Yes, by installing the stock ROM and locking the bootloader. All the keyboxes you're going to find on Telegram channels will be used by hundreds of users and will eventually be revoked within a few weeks... Another alternative is to spoof the SDK_INT value in the Play Store process and force a legacy attestation; I implemented this back in the day in PIF, and it wasn't usually very stable... For some, the Play Store would crash; others would get logged out... PlayIntegrityFork still has it. From what I understand, those with Android 12 or lower are not affected by this change, but I haven't been able to confirm it myself yet.

A lot of people have questions that I'm going to try to clarify here: - Google already warned about this, and you all should have been prepared. - No, you can't create your own keybox, so stop sending weird scripts in the chat because none of them will work for you. All keyboxes are created by Google (as they are the only ones with the private key to generate them) and distributed to the various OEMs. - PlayIntegrityFix is 50% "obsolete"; it's still "working," but it needs another workaround to get the Device verdict (e.g., TrickyStore). - No, I'm not going to share any keyboxes. There are already many channels dedicated to this, and all they'll accomplish is getting all those keyboxes revoked. Then come the regrets... I'm not sure whether to continue with the module... Google keeps putting up more and more obstacles, and it's quite exhausting having to search for solutions that will end up being useless in a few months... 😭

RIP legacy checks in Play Integrity API 🕊️ Now Device verdict is like old Strong.

If you are thinking of buying a new phone, I recommend you first read the information in this repository: https://github.com/melontini/bootloader-unlock-wall-of-shame

It's only possible by using the stock kernel image, if you use a GKI one it won't pass. Also, even patching the original boot.img (or init_boot.img) using Magisk it won't work. KernelSU LKM and APatch can do the trick 😉

I think this is only possible on some Xiaomi phones + TrickyStore with a valid and not revoked keybox. I didn't test on more devices. I'm using POCO X6 Pro.

No need to use PIF module 😋
