🌳 Dubai Green Spine project: plans unveiled to completely transform E311 The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan is a comprehensive road map that will guide urban development in Dubai over the next two decades. Еhe E311 is one of Dubai’s major roads and the project will transform 64km part of Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road between Muhaisnah and Dubai Industrial City by adding a new non-motorized public transportation system to reduce the city’s carbon footprint. They propose to launch a solar-powered tram system on this stretch, to organise many green zones, to plant more than a million trees, to lay out gardens and even vertical farms where vegetables and fruits can be grown, and to lay pedestrian and bicycle paths. The result will be much cleaner air in Dubai and a smaller carbon footprint. The project is tentatively estimated at 36 billion dirhams and is still just a concept. You can see how its creators see it on the renderings. @DubaiOnline #goodnews #roads #innovations #projects

🖥 Dubai residents now have the opportunity to name streets 🛣️ Dubai authorities have launched a new platform that will allow every resident to suggest names for roads and streets across the emirate. The project was initiated by the Dubai Road Naming Committee (DRNC) under the leadership of Dubai Municipality. 🌆 The aim of the innovation is to revive names that have survived to the present day, emphasizing national identity as well as social and cultural features that reflect the emirate's history, heritage, values and wealth. 📩 Suggesting a name can be done through the platform via the link. Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, explained:
"The digital system takes into account an integrated method and specific criteria that reflect our identity and the relationship between Dubai's past, present and future."
🌳 The committee has already completed the first phase of naming roads in the Al Khawaneej 2 neighborhood. The new street names were inspired by local trees and flowers, such as Al Ghaf Street, named after the evergreen tree, one of the UAE's symbols. ✔️ Similarly, other streets in the area have been given names such as Al Sidr, Basil, Al Faghi, Al Samr and Al Sharish. 💬 Share your suggestions with street names in the comments! @DubaiOnline #innovations #events #culture
