Another note: Many people think, Shias or Iranians dislike second caliph Umar because Umar conquered Iran during his era. Premise of their argument is based on "nationalism" But it's not the case. Even 500 years ago,Iran was a sunni majority region. All writers of sahih sittah aka "sunni six authentic books" was Iranians. During Seljuk era,Iranians also defended sunnism against Fatimid Egypt (Ismaili shias) If Iranians hated second caliph umar because of nationalistic pov , why would Iranians contribute to sunnism in this large scale until 1500 AD? Whatever, I personally believe in Muslim unity from deep inside of my heart. But we shouldn’t disrespect other sect's faith. Imam Mahdi (as) will help this ummah to end this disputes, insha'allah.
