Sometimes, when we're testing the our platform or adding a new feature, we check the site and see real users applying and using it. At first, we were confused, like, "Wait... who are these people?" So, we started asking them how they found us, and almost everyone says the same thing: "I just searched on Google, and your site came up." And that's honestly crazy to me because we haven't even launched or have proper SEO; we're not running ads. Yet people keep coming every day. We're already at 80+ applications just from people finding us naturally. 😭 That's when you realize sometimes you don't even know who's already using what you're building. @devwitheyob #projects

My hommie ❤️ Our son showed us an amazing fight yesterday. He’s so good, and this was his 13th consecutive match, and he won all of them. 🥊 It’s not easy for people like us to come from some small city and do whatever it takes to stand out. You have no idea what it looks like growing up in a really small city, the things you see, and how little support there can be. Yesterday we had a meeting with my CEO about our progress on one of our marketplace projects, and I realized something. I'm currently working with two teams, RemConnect and Certa (Spotlight). I'm a backend dev in one and frontend in the other. RemConnect is actually the bigger and more complicated project, but we're progressing much faster. The reason? Communication. We have standups, recaps, weekly syncs, and we constantly know what everyone is working on. With Certa, we mostly work separately, and even though the project is simpler, we're moving slower. I brought this up yesterday, and hopefully starting Monday we'll start collaborating more. Communication really makes a difference. @devwitheyob #project #tips #communication

Let me tell you something 😂 When I was around 6 or 7, my mom took me to a new school to register. There were these boys who used to chase girls and beat them, and somehow it was just a normal thing at that age there. I actually had a pretty good childhood. I was በጥባጭ and very interactive 😂 but I also spent a lot of time around older people, especially my mom's coworkers. So I called out one of those boys and said "እንዴት በ21 ክፍለ ዘመን ሴት ልጅን ትመታለህ" I swear, I still remember saying that word for word 😂 And now that I think about it, I'm actually confused about how a 6 or 7 year old me even came up with that sentence😭 @devwitheyob #random #childhood

Ever since I got to Gbi, I’ve wanted to experience the road trip to Addis. So finally, I’m coming to Addis by bus, not because I want to, but because my teacher gave me an NG and they told me I have to be there on Monday. It’s necessary. There’s no flight until Wednesday, so I have to take the bus. But honestly, it feels like I’m not even gonna enjoy the ride knowing it’s more than 10 hours of driving 😭
