If you don't want your OS to be another thing you have to actively care about i think it's the way to go.
I personally use Windows 10 LTSC, there is no ads and no bloat.
6 months in there haven't been a single issue, i needed to touch maybe one time the Bluetooth stopped working and i had to reinstall the driver, for some of dev work i use WSL2
Its so annoying to search for something and seeing it's only on windows and mac or sometimes the linux version is some bs held together by ductape
dualbooting is an option too i guess which am thinking of doing soon
