The CUNY Gaza Solidarity Encampment stands in firm solidarity with Within Our Lifetime, the Palestinian Youth Movement, and the Palestine movement at large in our anti-zionist and anti-normalization stance. We know that it is the Palestinian resistance, not zionist American politicians, who will liberate Palestine.
*We reject any attempts to paint principled anti-zionism as fringe, when the thawabet are mainstream within the Palestine movement.*
As PYM stated, "The so-called 'progressives' of the Democratic party, from AOC to Bowman to Sanders, are complicit in this genocide: from endorsing Biden, to voting to send money to the Zionist entity, to smearing Palestinian [orgs] and conflating anti-Zionism w/ anti-semitism."
This is why the CUNY GSE refused to platform politicians at our encampment. The movement is not beholden to Democratic politicians who hedge on genocide, and we will not be scolded for our dissent.

Following the call of the 'Summer of Resistance' Campaign from Black Atlanta Organizers to begin on Juneteenth, the NYC Resistance Coalition is launching a 'Summer of Resistance.
Which will include a series of teach-ins, actions, rallies, and community building events to bridge our struggles together. We are hoping your organization can partake in this seasonal coalition in our continual resistance against zionism, imperialism, police brutality, and land displacement.
The word Intifada is directly translated to "shaking off," and is commonly understood as civil uprising. Civil Uprising against oppression, against occupation, against settler colonialism, against imperialism, against racism and most importantly against injustice.
Civil Uprising has been historically used to fight injustice, not just in Palestine, but against cop cities, in anti-imperialist movements, in the decolonization of Algeria and South Africa, and in all anti-racism, anti-capitalism, and anti-colonialist work.

CUNY WORKS WITH THE IOF AND US MILITARY
On Saturday June 8, the IOF along with US military forces targeted Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the guise of humanitarian workers, killing at least 275 Palestinians. The Popular Resistance Committees in Gaza stated, “The massacre in the Nusseirat camp clearly and unequivocally reveals and confirms the participation of American enemy forces stationed on the floating dock in killing and slaughtering our people, despite the criminal American administration’s assertion that this dock’s purpose is solely to pump humanitarian aid.”
CUNY welcomes IOF soldiers onto campuses, allowing groups to advertise these bloodthirsty war criminals as “heroes.” CUNY employs former IOF “counter-terrorism” officials, such as Maria Haberfeld, professor of police science at John Jay College, to pass on their racist worldview and genocidal tactics to CUNY students. CUNY also helps the US military recruit students into its violent colonial apparatus through ROTC and campus recruitment.
DEHUMANIZATION & POLITICAL COVER
Following Saturday’s massacre, US President Biden and news outlets have celebrated the Nuseirat operation.
Since Oct. 7, 2023, numerous CUNY administrations have disingenuously sent communications about anti-semitism on campus, without a word about the Nakba, the tens of thousands of Palestinians killed, and the ongoing genocide. Instead, CUNY violently represses and denounces anyone who dares to assert support for Palestinian liberation.
CUNY has thus participated in the widespread racist dehumanization that renders 4 zionist settlers more worthy than 274 Palestinians.
MATERIAL SUPPORT
CUNY funds weapons manufacturers Boeing, General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon, which manufacture the bombs and jets that the IOF uses to indiscriminately massacre Palestinians, like they did at Nuseirat Refugee Camp.
