Production of the UnlockSwitch PBS and the Xtractor kicks off this week, and yes, we’re stocking up ahead of time! 🦾

Software / Firmwares - Overview and Legal Considerations: Upon entering the Switch scene, we opted for an open-source solution, ensuring that our product complies with legal standards, unlike other options currently available. Our focus is on enabling users to create personal backups of their original games, but we do not condone or support illegal downloads from the internet. Open Source: Unlike “Flashcard” solutions on the market, our UnlockSwitch is not preloaded with illegal files. It comes equipped with its own proprietary programmer and programming software. Additionally, our hardware components are pre-configured to support custom firmware installations. What does ‘pre-configured components’ mean? Our devices contain only the essential components, with the two primary chips (ice40/esp32) engineered for seamless communication, ensuring smooth and efficient integration of custom firmware. Firmware: We provide a default test firmware intended to validate the communication between the programmer, the UnlockSwitch , and the Xtractor . Its main function is to ensure proper hardware assembly and verify that all components are interacting as expected. This firmware also allows you to confirm that your UnlockSwitch is equipped with our proprietary, pre-flashed, secure bootloader, ready to accept additional custom firmware for any current or future requirements. The system supports seamless updates or upgrades through the included programmer in every kit (UnlockSwitch Solo and PBS). All third-party firmware developed externally to our engineering team will be subject to comprehensive validation procedures. Updates and relevant details will be communicated exclusively through our official Twitter account. Please note, no firmware downloads will be hosted or made accessible via our website or Twitter account. Testing and Validation: Firmware flashing tests and demonstrations, aimed at validating backup execution, will be prioritized for our beta testers. They will rigorously assess the system’s functionality, ensuring optimal performance. Once validated, their approval will confirm the product’s readiness for the final stage before mass production and release. What exactly does beta tester validation mean? The validation process involves receiving the following from our team: • Priority access to the programming software • Remote updates to their received samples using our proprietary software • Flashing of external firmware that enables backups to run on the UnlockSwitch . Pre-order / Order: Please be aware that no sales will take place until testing and validation with our external beta testers is fully completed. There will be no pre-orders or early sales. We are moving forward with mass production and will share updates on every stage of the production process here. The launch date and available stock for shipment will be announced on Twitter and our website. As of now, no exact date has been confirmed. Additional Information: Our products will only be available through our official website : UnlockSwitch.com Any other websites or online stores claiming to represent our brand should be considered fake. We will not be distributing products via emails, platforms like Alibaba, Taobao, or TikTok stores. Please stay vigilant against any fraudulent activities during our launch. After careful consideration and especially after reviewing all your feedback on our recent post, we’ve decided to produce two batches of 10,000 units of the UnlockSwitch Solo. Quick reminder: The UnlockSwitch Solo (without WiFi antenna), Purple Edition, comes with its programmer and cables. Once half of the first batch is sold, we’ll immediately start the second production run. Following that, our focus will shift to the UnlockSwitch PBS kit, which includes a 2-in-1 setup: UnlockSwitch with an integrated WiFi antenna, its programmer, and the Xtractor. When you connect the Xtractor to your PC, two new drives appear at the Same time: - Drive 1 : Your original switch game - Drive 2: The micro SD card reader Simply copy and paste from the cartridge to the micro SD card reader or to any hard drive. Here’s the full UnlockSwitch PBS Kit! ⁃The UnlockSwitch PBS ⁃The Programmer ⁃The Xtractor ⁃USB Type-C Cable For anyone who hasn’t been keeping up since day one, let’s dive into the exciting pricing details! - The production of UnlockSwitch without the Wi-Fi antenna for $24.90 ( 10 000 pcs only) - The Xtractor alone will be sold for $34.90 - The kit, including the UnlockSwitch PBS with the Wi-Fi Antenna , the Programmer, and the Xtractor , will be sold for $59.90 All details about the production start date and the official launch of the UnlockSwitch PBS will be announced this week.

After a significant delay, the Xtractor has finally arrived! As promised in our earlier announcement, we've added the same programming port as the UnlockSwitch to our PCB. This allows you to use the same programmer to flash both devices with ease. You can also transfer your original games to your PC or directly to the MicroSD slot on the Xtractor. Please note that the microSD port on the production version will be oriented in the same direction as the cartridge. We’ll soon release a demonstration video of the Xtractor in action, showcasing game copying, transfer tests, and other features. As for the mass production of the full PBS kit, the announcement, along with photos and videos, will be shared here on our one and only official Twitter account. All details about the production start date and the official launch of the UnlockSwitch PBS will be announced next week.

It could be a direct competitor messing with us, or it could be a completely separate group—anything is possible. After some private exchanges, they shared a significant portion of the code with us. What we do know for certain is this: the lines of code shared are indeed correct. Their intentions are clear—they want to publish the files online. As we've always said, we’re not worried about competition, and our solution is open source. Out of curiosity, we offered to send them a sample of the UnlockSwitch PBS and asked them to test their file on our product. We’ll see what happens. We don’t have any more information about this team. We have no connection with them, either directly or indirectly. THE XTRACTOR !!! Like the UnlockSwitch PBS, the Xtractor is upgradable over time using the SAME programmer. The Xtractor ’s main feature is its ability to back up your original Switch games onto your PC or Mac (Mac support is currently in development). We've also included a microSD port directly on the Xtractor to make it easier to transfer your original games. In summary: The Xtractor is programmable and therefore upgradable. You can back up your games to your computer or directly onto the integrated microSD card with a simple copy-past The PC version will be available at launch. Mass Production for the UnlockSwitch PBS and Xtractor will begin in early September.
