you can quickly understand any process by asking yourself these questions: Where does the process start and where does it end? How many stages are there? Is it a man-made process or natural process? Is it a cyclical (in a circle) or linear (one start point and one end point) process? Are there any materials that need to be added to the process? What is produced? What does each stage of the process do? What are the relationships between each stage?

Long gone are the days when horses served as the primary means of transportation after the invention of diesel cars. Development never stopped and we have witnessed the transition from fossil fuel-powered cars to electric ones. While there is a growing movement to ban and replace traditional cars with electric ones, I believe that these may not be the best ideas. It may not be feasible today to ban automobiles that burn fossil fuels as such a change requires time. People have been using fuel-powered cars for years and cannot simply abandon this practice overnight. The challenge lies not only in financial considerations or availability of alternative energy sources, but also in people’s perceptions of electric-cars. Many times today’s international car companies have proved themselves worthy of the money people pay to purchase their products, companies such as BMW, Ferrari, Toyota, etc… earning the respect and trust of people through years of continuous improvements of their products. On the other hand, companies manufacturing electric vehicles have not faced strong competition or proven their worth in the eyes of customers. Consequently, when it comes to making a choice, people tend to favor cars from companies that stood the test of time and have a reputable track record. Time, therefore, is a crucial factor allowing people to assess the quality and reliability of cars powered by new energy sources. Replacing cars with internal combustion engines is completely irrelevant in today’s context. People’s desire for electric cars is largely driven by environmental concerns which, as they believe, may be solved or mitigated by merely replacing the traditional automobiles. However, it is important to recognize that cars are not the sole contributors to climate change; It is a fact that all today’s vehicles on roads that have been around nearly a century and powered with diesel, petrol or gas leave a carbon-footprint. This has a detrimental impact on the environment, including the depletion of the ozone layer which reflects the sun’s radiation. Also, a subsequent flora and fauna degradation in different corners of the world, leading to high-temperatures or unprecedented rising of sea levels. However, even if people replace cars with more eco-friendly alternatives, there can be no guarantee that a desired effect on the environment will be achieved. As long as vehicles running on the same power source will still function, their effect on the environment is likely to remain tangible. Other types of transportation such as lorries, airplanes, ferries and many more, can have comparable or even greater environmental consequences than cars. Hence, it is unnecessary today to focus on car alternatives as their impact appears relatively intangible when compared to other forms of transportation In conclusion, environmentally-friendly automobiles are groundbreaking, but any change takes time and new solutions may not always be relevant as they are initially thought to be.

All cars that burn fossil fuels should be banned and electric cars should replace them. Do you agree or disagree?
