Quick Update #10: This will be a boring technical update, so if you don't really care about building and code stuff then feel free to skip it. The tool we're building and that will be launched for Onchain Summer's Buildathon is called BaseGuard - and in the last 24 hours work has been proceeding well. I've received the first suggested information from Extropy now - they're designing the core of the system that will be used to protect token buyers in Base. Apex, the Founder of Onchain Dinos, is heavily entrenched in Farcaster dev work now, and is joining our team for BaseGuard to produce a Farcaster integration so that submissions can be made directly through Frames and that we can service the Warpcast community directly. I've been working on the project management, coordination and strategy side of the tool - and our two devs have been working on the tool itself. The UI is now under development - it'll be simplistic but high quality, integrating Smart Wallet ONLY. This is so that we can support Base and Coinbase maximally by onboarding the most new users to Smart Wallet, which after you look through the docs and really digest them you can see is truly revolutionary tech. The backend server is deployed now and being worked on and it integrates directly with Github. I won't go into too much more detail than that as it's currently a USP being produced by us, but needless to say there is a lot of enthusiasm around this work, and we have a total of 6 people including myself, the CEO of Extropy and Apex, all working on this together. The big question - how does this help us, especially right now? Sometimes the best way to approach a situation is in a somewhat indirect path. It might seem like this is disconnected from our goals compared to getting right back to Whirl - but it's far from that. Base is gearing up now for it's next big phase of hype. As we all know, it feels like it'll never come but then when it does it catches you by surprise and everything goes crazy. I would like to take this opportunity to deepen our ties to Base, and the broader Base market. It's positive to help token buyers for a start, and it's good to make Base a cleaner and more secure ecosystem. From a totally self-serving point of view this also builds our profile up and our exposure, and positions us as more of an authority in the space. More than anything it's just a super good idea, as has been echoed now by people much smarter than me, as well as people in Base who are very much aligned with this product and its goals. We'll take the next 10 days to focus on building and delivering this. After that we'll be looking to consider and then move on with our next steps.
