I'm really trying to hold on my whimsy but man, I hate living in a long series of historical events.

Kansas is now sending letters to transgender residents telling them they must surrender their driver’s licenses because their IDs don’t match their sex assigned at birth. No grace period. No transition time. Just "turn it in or risk criminal charges". If they don’t comply, they could be charged with driving without a valid license, face fines, jail time, automatic suspension, and potentially even more jail if they drive during that suspension. Today I've seen a lot of people saying whats happening to trans people is a genocide, and people on the other side telling them thats overly dramatic and an insult to "actual" genocide. But did you know that genocide actually happens in stages? 10 in fact. Do you know which stage we are on for trans people? It's 8.
