他说，大马已与美方进行至少25次磋商，在寻求建设性对话的同时，也在关键议题上坚定立场。
“我们始终以诚意谈判，过程中有取有舍，但在国家利益与主权的问题上，我们绝不退让。”他指出，谈判中存在一些“红线”（red lines），大马绝不会跨越。
