Three Viking Age bronze wolf shaped mounts, found in Latvia and Chernihiv, 9-11th Century. Similar examples have been found in Birka, Sweden, Finland and Russia. This design could be of Scandinavian, Slavic or Baltic origin; after all, wolves feature prominently in the native religion and folklore of all these peoples, associated with deities including Odin, Iðunn, Veles, Dazhbog, Dievas, Velinas and Veliuona.
