This is known from an inscription that has been preserved on the frame of the northern door. But the most important thing about these frescoes is not the speed, but the rare uniformity. Walls, vaults, arches, figures of the saints and individual scenes come together to form a single pictorial ensemble. For Old Russian art, this is almost a miracle: the only fully preserved and documentarily confirmed fresco by Dionysius, and for Old Russian painting especially important — the names of the masters are often poorly known, and the authorship of many works is disputed. In the temple, almost the entire painted ensemble has been preserved. It is hundreds of square meters of frescoes, and the most important thing — they have been preserved as a single work, not as separate fragments.
