Extrajudicial Executions in Raqqa: Two Members of Kurdish Family Killed by Syrian Government Forces On January 18, 2026, armed members affiliated with the new Syrian government—which recently seized control of Raqqa—arrested and killed a 16-year-old Kurdish child named Farid Rabie Bakir. Originally from Hama, he has ties to MIT, and through the Turkish occupation, he and his militia group were transferred to Libya. He is now in the town of Shaddadi, in the southern countryside of Hasakah, and the group affiliated with him consists mostly of hardline radicals.

And it continues - despite a curfew being in place - the arab residents of Hassakeh have started to march towards the city Centers, firing randomly into the sky.

Naturally, Syrian Government Media is trying to spin the truth to create the narrative that *Evil Kurds* are suppressing the Arabs residents in Hassakeh.
