Upon arriving and realizing that the shop attendant was away, the older girl quickly searched a drawer and stole GHS 40,000 and gold. The girls, just at the entrance of the shop, encountered the attendant, after which they returned to make the mercury purchase. It wasn’t until two hours later, when another customer came in to sell gold, that the shop attendant discovered the money and gold were missing.
