🔴 Moving Load, AASHTO (continue) What is Design Truck? The design truck load simulates the effects of a standard heavy truck on the bridge. The design truck is specified with particular axle loads and spacings. In AASHTO, the design truck typically has three axles (The used of design truck is to find the worst-case scenario). What is Tandem? The design tandem load represents two closely spaced axles with equal loads of 110kN with 1.2m distance (The main point of tandem is to ensures the bridge can safely support heavy vehicles with closely spaced axles, which can cause significant stress in certain parts of the bridge deck and girders) What is Lane? The design lane load is a distributed load that represents the effect of multiple vehicles spread out over a lane (traffic flow). (It ensures the bridge can safely support the mixed traffic conditions expected in real-world scenarios) In the design, the load due to moving load is the maximum of the Truck&Lane and Tandem&Lane. _________________________ |Telegram | Facebook |
