Real GDP grew 7.8% in Q1 FY27 and Consumption up 7.1%. Fixed investment up nearly 12%. We have absorbed — Covid, Wars, broken Supply chains, tariffs, Geopolitical headwinds. And still we grow. It is resilience. But that's the Half Story. The other half of the story is - Top 1% holds about 40% of India's wealth Top 10% earns about 58% of national income Bottom 50% gets just 15% We are not distributing at all. Hard Truth: 43% of our workers are in agriculture, producing less than a fifth of our output. That is not a farm problem. That is an income problem for half of India. MSMEs employ Crores and still borrow at rates no corporate would ever accept. Female workforce participation is 15.7%. Half our demographic dividend is sitting at home. Equitable distribution should be Priority. And the plumbing is already built - 🔹 144 crore Aadhaar numbers 🔹 59 crore PMJDY accts, 55.7% of them held by women 🔹 106 crore mobile subscribers; 85.5% of households with a smartphone 🔹 Over 9 crore farmers on the PM-KISAN database 🔹 UPI: 24,162 crore transactions worth ₹314 lakh crore in FY26 No country has laid rails like these, this fast. But rails are only as good as what runs on them. We have another 22 years for 2047 (Till this time we have Demographic Dividend too, after that we will have aging population). The capital, the demand, the talent is there. What is missing is the will to widen the base of Growth, not merely raise the peak and Inequality. Growth gives us the money. Distribution gives us the nation.

Agentic AI in Banking: India’s Next Financial Transformation At Global Fintech Fest 2026, State Bank of India Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty outlines the three pillars needed to build trust in agentic AI: accuracy, accountability and access without asymmetry. He says AI in financial services must deliver consistent, near-perfect accuracy, while every AI-led action should have an audit trail and clear accountability. Setty also highlights the need for “know your agent” frameworks covering identity, authentication, consent, transaction limits and revocation. He says building trusted agentic AI will require collaboration between governments, regulators, banks, fintechs and technology companies. According to Setty, India’s next opportunity is to move from digital inclusion to intelligent inclusion through AI-powered financial services.
