إنّا لله وإنا إليه رجعون Our meritorious and virtuous Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jābiri is no longer with us and passed away earlier today. My sincere condolences to all the brothers and sisters from Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah. The eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, but we do not say except that which pleases our Rabb.The Shaykh was 87 years old, and dedicated well over 50 years of his life to cultivating students upon the blessed Sunnah of RASOOL ALLAH ﷺ An outspoken defender of the Madhhab of the Salaf and a thorn in the throats of Ahl al-Bid'ah. May Allāh accept his work and grant him a place in the highest stations of Jannah and enable us to benefit from the rich academic legacy he left behind.Truly heartbreaking A great sign of Khayr in the Shaykh's life is his cultivation of many of today's 'Ulama'.The fruit of the Shaykh's hard work can be seen in form of 'Ulama' across Makkah, Madinah, Jīzān, and even as far out as Egypt and Algeria - including many students in various countries. Shaykh Rabi' ibn Hādī al-Madkhalib said:"By Allāh, there is no value in Fiqh or other than it if we lose our 'Aqidah, waste Tawḥīd, and fall into Shirk. There is no benefit in any branch of science ever!" [1] Muḥaddithūn are usually known only for their collections of Hadith, such as Imām al-Bukhārī & his Ṣaḥīḥ, Imām Muslim & his Ṣaḥīḥ, Imām Abū Dāwūd and his Sunan, and so on. The reality of this matter is that not only were these great scholars A'immah in Hadith, but they were also well-versed in other fields & the various other sciences of Islām. What one may come across during their research of the works of these great A'lmmah is that they've actually contributed a vast amount to defending the correct creed, establishing the Sunnah, and rejecting Bid'ah; and this list will look into a few of those works, 'In sha Allah.
