I didn't know why we should be as wise as serpents especially when the serpent is usually depicting Satan. We are the sheep and Jesus is our shepherd. Notice how our society has tried to turn the term into an insult. What are sheep? Sheep are harmless, they trust their shepherd to protect them and guide them from the wolves.
