Do more with less

A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not well-managed. What are the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world? Tourism is the principal revenue stream for many places. However, with poor management it can cause serious issues. While tourism is advantageous on several grounds, it also presents certain drawbacks. There are a couple of benefits of tourism industry. The primary advantage is to provide people with jobs. It is known that tourism industry is comprised of hotels , restaurants, travel agencies, guiding services and so on. So, if this industry expands, more and more people are hired to run this industry. Besides, tourism presents another economic advantage and it is associated with the level of revenue local people and a country can make. Tourists, obviously, tend to purchase various items from local shops and these include souvenirs, clothes and food . As a result of their purchase of goods and services, local communities maximize their financial potential. However, tourism is not without drawbacks. The main concern around it is the damage done to the environment. Millions of flights worldwide, use of transport and energy spent for other activities destroy the ecology since all the mentioned needs increase pollution of both air and physical environment, and carbon footprint of people. For instance, in my country many tourist spots suffer from pollution. On top of this , to meet the need of tourists, a great deal of local resources have to be exploited, which in turn leads to the shortage or total disappearance of some of those. For instance, due to japan's mismanagement or lax control of tourism, sea food restaurants might imbalance the population of certain fish species to satisfy tourists. In conclusion, many rely on tourism to make their livelihood. It can increase employment and bring more profit to locals. Nevertheless, in case of mismanagement, tourism harms our ecology and causes exploitation of resources.‌‌ 🆔@ieltsology1
