✓Primary transcripts contain both exon and introns and that are non -functional
✓So , we have to convert into functional we will do process called
SPLICING
✓In splicing, introns are removed and exon are joined in defined order
✓hnRNA undergoes additional processing called as capping and tailing
✓Capping
Nucleotide (methyl guanosine triphosphate) is added to the 5'-end of hnRNA
✓ Tailing
Adenylate residues (200-300) are added at 3'-end
✓Fully processed hnRNA = m RNA
✓Now this mature mRNA is transported into nucleus for translation
