I have given interviews of ESE ,IISc along with ONGC , IOCL , BPCL (college and gate) , EIL ,BARC , ISRO (college and written) and have been selected in all except my first one ;) So lets start with a failure First interview : Isro where I panicked in the beginning and needless to say the result . I had prepared for interview by memorizing the introductions and favorite topic and project. Then what went wrong ?? I could not deliver properly and my confidence got a hit and I panicked. Lesson learnt : Be calm , composed and when a question is thrown at you ,never reply instantly . Think for some 4–5 seconds (the wait time should not become uneasy ) ,frame an answer start or think of concepts to be told and then start the answer . If you don't know , then also this thing shows that you tried to give attempt . If no answer comes in your mind , you can say sorry sir , I don't know about this but will learn about it (In future learn it as it will help you in other interviews ). This helped me as my answers were more organized and framed as compared to instant answers. Then never bluff much or if want to say something that you are not confident , " sorry sir , I don't know the exact answer but I can guess if you allow ." If yes tell the explanation and its reasoning. Then comes the part , " Be Yourself " or try to " Be Ideal " . So what makes you ideal for the Company ?? A company wants a dedicated but practical and thinking person . So whatever you say , there should be layers or at least one layer of reasoning to it . Timeline of a Interview • Introduction : You start with a series of points to start the discussion and make yourself comfortable. A brief intro covers cllg , birthplace, degree branch , college city , family .These will pose some questions . You have to think what can be asked from these keywords and if possible google them like meaning of your name . • Prepare Company specific points. The important subject for that company like Oil psus - chairman , its revenue , some award , welfare schmes , technical working and the subjects knowledge important for them are to be covered specifically like fluid machinery , ic engines . Why do you want to join a company ? What will you offer to company or Why should we hire you ? Some recent news of the company and dont forget to watch the company video on YouTube and its website which itself will give you answers for above questions. • Also learn the Important Subjects and their application and how it is useful in daily life . Technical subjects ( first priority to be given to subjects which are important for their applications , and then all basic laws and definitions of all subjects ) . If the interviewer asks you 2–3 questions from the subject you are uncomfortable ,you can tell " Sorry sir , I have not prepared this subject well . But I have prepared these ….subjects well . " Because instead of wasting time of your interview for questions you dont know , you should use the time for questions you know . Example - An interview with - 10 question ( unanswered or wrong) with 15 questions answered well does not seem appealing compared with an interview with 4 questions ( unanswered including an apology) and 18 questions answered . • Theory of your Projects / Training , problems faced and how you overcame them by using your strengths and their application in Present or future . Always remember , the interviewer mostly comes empty and as you give answers he through reasoning digs out new questions which becomes difficult for us . So you should know what you know well and then after thinking give answers ( layers of reasoning ) . That's why mock interviews are important as you may always look from a same angle but others may help you in looking other important points. • Write some Strengths to tell and incidents to support them . Also prepare for weakness ( makes you human :D ) and tell a strategy like how you are tackling it . • Make some hobbies to tell or prepare some layers of questions to tell about hobbies and why these hobbies help you.

SARAGADAM GANESH AIR-50 70.67 MARKS Started preparing for gate in 2020...due to COVID I couldn't attend any classes so followed unacademy free classes and got 10k rank in 2021. Again prepared myself for 2022 got 5k rank. Thought this preparation can't get me into psu.so came to Hyderabad joined made easy for GATE 2023, got 2658 rank. since i was 21 passed out so got depressed and not in a position to take drop and waste one more year. I came to know about my mistakes and told my parents about this. They told me to take decision wisely so that I shouldn't regret again.meanwhile I got shortlisted for hpcl and BARC scientist interviews through separate exams not through gate. These two interviews boosted my confidence to take one more year drop and work hard for it and achieved this rank... 2021- 43marks- 10k 2022- 41- 5k 2023- 45- 2658 Hpcl- gt cleared but couldn't clear pi round BARC SOc- interview duration 58mins- but couldn't make it to final list As the selection ratio is less. So i didn't expect my name in final list. 2024- Hpcl- written cleared- but didn't attend gt and pi BARC- Technical officer- written cleared-interview 53 mins- result awaiting BARC- Stipendary trainee- written cleared- interview 45mins- result awaiting GATE- 70.67marks- AIR50 ISRO scintist- written cleared- waiting for interview call NPCIL- interview shortlisted-result awaiting BARC SOc-interview was not so good again couldn't make it into final list Above mentioned are just for the reference who thought gate is just an exam and can clear within one year. It may take time but if u workhard u can get it in one year otherwise it will take time..but u will get it if u give wholehearted efforts towards whatever u r preparing for. Coming to my preparation strategy Made easy class notes-workbook-test series-pyqs (4-5 times before gate).and in made easy telegram group students post good questions better if u spend 30 mins in telegram once in everyday..if u think that is tough question save it and try to solve it till u get the concept behind it. The reason why I took these many years is that I am from diploma background in which I didn't studied mathematics and it is important subject. Even in technical questions u will find mathematical relations. Which took a lot of time to learn. I was an Average student. Previously I have studied only concept then came to know that gate requires concept, problem solving and time management. Learned about it through my 3 attempts and made it in my 4th attempt. Hope this helps many students struggling like me. All the best lot of PSUs are waiting for u. Prepare hard give ur best.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS : GATE 2019 - 45 marks(gave at home) GATE 2020 - 55 marks - AIR 6300 GATE 2021 - 59 marks - AIR 3500 ESE 2021 Mains Qualified BARC 2021 written qualified AFCAT 2021 written qualified GATE 2022 - 64.74 marks - AIR 467 ESE 2022 pre qualified Qualified IOCL interview! BRIEF EXPERIENCE: (Not really brief) B.tech: 2016-2020 I am gonna try to be completely honest about my GATE-ESE journey.I don't have a really impressive rank in GATE.But i know about a few things about GATE-ESE preparation that could only be learnt by experience. So, it might be really helpful for a few future aspirants. The reason I said few is because these things are mostly learned from experience.I was told most of these things by my teachers but i didn't apply them. Maybe it was lack of trust or i was just stupid, i don't know. I am gonna start with the beginning. And by beginning, I mean the very beginning.Like most of the students, I was also one of the toppers of my school and i also brutally murdered my self confidence by taking one year drop after school for IIT JEE preparation. So, i joined a normal college for engineering because ofcourse i didn't get an IIT.And i took mechanical engineering because of the same reason why most of the people take mechanical engineering- love of physics (Mechanics) and mathematics( and cars, that goes without saying) .I took my first semester very seriously. But after seeing the results and realising that these colleges only consider a completely filled answer sheet and good hand writing eligible for good grades, i stopped giving college much importance for next 1-1.5 years. I did all stupid things during this interval which a normal engineer does during engineering. But, then came Ajay Kuntal sir, an alumni of our college, he had started his own coaching of GATE-ESE one year ago named "Irreversible Concepts" .He was the first one who told us about GATE and ESE. Then I did one year coaching in irreversible concept classes for GATE with college(2018-2019) Wrote GATE 2019 at home and scored 45 marks ! (Too excited about GATE and as they didn't allow 3rd year students in GATE 2019) Solved only class notes and GATE PYQ until GATE 2020 with ies master test series. Wrote GATE 2020 and scored 55 marks. (Before writing GATE 2020, i didn't know what a tough bastard GATE is. I used to think i could crack GATE just by PYQ and test series.Yepp i was that STUPID!!!) Afrer writing GATE 2020, corona virus hit! So, i couldn't go to made easy Delhi because of lockdown which was my super plan.Man plans and Gods laugh! So, i stayed at home and purchased Made easy CTQ course, which was extremely helpful and made me realise that I knew nothing about GATE and i haven't covered a big chunk of syllabus during the coaching that I did during college in kota. Now, GATE 2021 came, i scored 59 marks.I was devastated because I thought that this time I did everything right. I completed entire syllabus.I wrote around 100 tests during last two months.I wanted to burn all the books of GATE and run away. But, I controlled my emotions and took a break from studies for a few weeks.Always take a big break from studies if you decide to prepare again for next year.It helps you to understand yourself and what you want to do in the future. i also thought of leaving preparation and doing M.tech.But i didn't get any good IIT or branch at that score. So, this was the major turning point in my preparation, whether to stop preparing and take m.tech or give one last attempt.I decided to prepare for ESE this time because I was really sick of GATE.I had almost 3 months left for ESE 2021. I prepared for ESE prelims by studying downloaded made easy old notes.I cleared ESE prelims 2021.This was my first victory✌️.I also cleared BARC 2021 written. My confidence went was really high at this time. Then i took Made easy ese mains exclusive course which was the "GAME CHANGER" in my entire preparation. After that, i was ready for anything.

Hi sir, The preparation strategy of GATE or any exam is same as you and other faculty of madeeasy have taught us and most of the candidates also know these 1. Revision of Classnotes 2. Preparing and going through shortnotes 3. Solving WorkBook Questions 4. Solving PYQs 5. Attempting Test Series So i want to share how i tackled my hindrances in doing them. 1. No One can do 100% of what they plan. I used to revise class notes, prepare short notes solve WB sums, homework problems and PYQs but sometimes it might get miss and i used to get demotivated but then i started to think i am a human i can do mistakes and also i can correct them. This motivated me to keep going i used to try to do them consistently but even having breaks in the middle i didn't get concerned about it i used to start it again. 2. I am a human and i will forget things i learn. I used to get everything while i was in a subject i felt like i have got a grip of it but as I shift to another subject i felt less confident on the before subject so once in a while when subjects got changed in class i used to revise the short notes of the previous subjects and (as you suggest in class) i used to note few though questions which i used to go through along with short notes. 3. We are never 100% confident. This was the reason i have delayed starting my Test series that i will start it once i got full grip of the subjects this majorly happens with full length test series. But as time gone i realised that it wont happen and started the test series just with a thought that even if i got negative marks i am ok with it. So i have started taken test series it didn't went well but it did really help me when i have analysed the question after attempting it giving test series is only half the part but by analysing the questions once after attempting the test series is important. By doing above i could only get 1187 rank in GATE but i didnt lose hope Then i have started preparing for NPCIL after applying for it in april. To know the types of questions being asked i have searched for npcil interview questions and viewed from youtube the interview experiences of people who got selected previously. After which i have got few points 1. Selection of fav subject (atleast 4) 2. Fast revision to get a grasp of the subject.(even if we are forgetting that's ok we can revise it another time) 3. Solving the previous year interview questions of BARC and NPCIL - by doing this we can tune ourselves to the type of questions they ask us. 4. Being confident in the interview - (very important as our total hardwork depends on this only ) To tackle this i used to think this way - the interview in which I am attending is not my last option it is just one of the options. If not this there are many other companies i just need one job out of them. 5. Luck -( How hard we prepare and what ever startegy we apply luck must also be there if it is not there in a certain point of time then something big is waiting for us) By following above i was able to clear NPCIL Got 78 marks in the interview.
