I had joined Made Easy Delhi Weekend Batch in year 2021.My rank in GATE 2021 was around 8000 reason being lack of practice and not giving enough of tests.Sir,conventional questions which you made us practice in class was of great help.It not only covers every small concepts but also give us the idea of what little mistakes we are likely to commit while solving the questions. As adviced by you in class,I had also made small notes of mistakes which I has committing often. Besides that I would also like to highlight the importance of CTQ and GTQ questions. I found some of the direct questions from there with little change in data.At last I would like say preparation is not complete until one has given enough of test series no matter how diligently you have studied.Lastly, one should have control over their nerves during the exam(Which sadly I was not able to😅) .It is all because of the guidance of my teachers(listen to them carefully without doubting their words),test series and rectifying my mistake that my rank got improved from 8000 to 800.

Sir, my name's Ajeet Kumar Sahu, I'm from Bhilai, CG.
I was working in pvt industry for 2.5 years... And in last year of my job I took ese mains classes...
It was tough to study along with my job but I always used to think I deserve more and i need to make time to study anyhow...
I resigned from my job in dec 21 to focus completely on gate 22.
I used to plan my everyday, including my work, study, test, revision, food and sleep... In free time in office I used to solve questions from telegram group to keep myself in flow...
Sir, In gate 2022, I got AIR-345 (ME) and AIR-67 (XE).
Based on that I got placed in nalco, ntpc, sail, ioc, etc
I joined SAIL as I got posting in my hometown.
Now I go office from my home, enjoy time with family and friends... All this was never possible without blessings of parents and teachers... A big load of thanks to you sir.
Looking back it's a beautiful journey, and looking forward to have more exciting and challenging experiences.

Importance of GATE XE
Regarding IIT's
if your XE rank is good then you can apply in
1)IIT MADRAS, Bombay - Mechanical, Aerospace, Applied Mechanics
2)IIT Delhi - Applied Mechanics
3)IISC -Aerospace
From placement perspective Opportunity for Manufacturing branch in core sector is limited
And don't join IIT in any interdisciplinary branch since the companies for those branches are limited
If your GATE ME rank is good and if your primary aim is placement choose IIT Bombay Over IISC Banglore
MS placement in IIT Madras is very good so apply for MS program also (in Design and Thermal only)
For IIT/IISC interviews keep the fundamentals very clear
Regarding Rank : In my time I had a XE rank of 35 still I couldn't get IIT Bombay Thermal
NIT Trichy, Karnataka and Warangal have good placement stats for core branches
If you are from Mechanical Background join Mechanical, Applied Mechanics and Aerospace branch only (either MS or MTech)

I can tell about some of my experiences that i went through while preparing for GATE !
1) The importance of tests: sir the most important part of my preparation was the full length test series. I started to give full length tests from December onwards and gave approximately 35-38 tests.
Benefits: There was improvement in my speed and the sole motive was to solve the questions as soon as possible maintaining the accuracy and not to feel the pressure of time during the exam.
But one mistake i made that i used to see the rank and marks (mostly i would secure somewhat between 70-80 and rank below 100) and i was not able to analyse my mistakes due to which i was not able to further improve my marks beyond 80-85.
Analysis of the paper is very important. If someone wants to secure a very good rank this is very necessary.
2. My suggestion regarding the test would be that : in the beginning it would be very difficult to give tests. Because we do have the mentality of giving the tests only after Completing everything and but that is not true, one has to give tests regardless of how much he has prepared because even just before the exams we will not be prepared fully so one has to keep aside everything and give test.
And let me give everyone a secret ,if one doesn't give tests then it will be very difficult to make it to a very good results because the one who will be securing good rank will definitely be giving tests so choose your steps wisely and give tests freely and analyse your mistakes ,that only will help you to cross the barrier and secure a good rank.
3. Sir just a motivation
Remember how hard it seems to you It is just a matter of a few months or days Once you get your results then you will look at those days and remember how you made it till there and be proud of yourself.
Sir i am here in IOCL and as we do have a talk with my friends then i think i observe everyone has a story ,how difficult was the situations everyone tried, everyone failed even some failed miserably but somehow everyone made it and now they are inspiration to everyone near them so everyone is going through the same difficult path just be patient and then everything will be fine.

If u think that I m capable to get good rank then in my view give one more chance.
If your parents are not allowing then on the basis of present gate score / rank take any state govt college / nit /iit interdisciplinary branch
along with that continue your preparation for psu / other exam so that your parents are Also happy and u are also happy
If u feel u want to practice more and your concepts are clear then u can join
Conventional batch / rank improvement batch so that your continuity will be maintained and u will learn new concepts also
But don’t leave preparation in mid way if u think that by practice I will able to get good ranks
For proof
U can check telegram group messages
https://t.me/Engineeringtalk
Of previously selected students
So it’s part of process
So don’t underestimate yourself
But u have to learn from your mistakes / work on them
Then appear in all exam Jo bhi aage aate hai
But start working on preparation. From today itself so that jaise hi koi opportunity aati hai u will able to grab that opportunity
Various opportunities at lower marks also in gate
but no need to waste next 40 days time till gate result
U all know your weakness and start working on that
Those who have filled GATE XE PAPER focus on that

Sir, these are my tips to aspirants preparing for BARC exam.
In this exam time is limited and most of the questions are lengthy to solve.
So, if one need to solve maximum number of problems then he/she need to select the problems which can be solved in less time.
They ask 100 questions in the time duration of 2 hours. Also they provide online virtual calculator to solve numericals (but quality of calculator is not good).
Also according to the level of paper cutoff fluctuates every year.
🔥How to handle written test ???
The syllabus of BARC is almost same as that of GATE syllabus.
There will not be any aptitude questions but you can expect few questions from Mathematics.
As they are more focussed on core fundamental subjects you need to cover the syllabus according to the priority given below...
1. SOM
2. FM and Heat Transfer
3. Thermo.
4. Production
5. Theory of machines
6. Mechanics
7. Applied thermodynamics
8. Mathematics
9. Machine Design
10. Industrial Engg.
👉From where to prepare??
Prepare from your notes that you prepared during GATE exam preparation.
👉For questions attempt GATE previous year.
👉GATE TEST SERIES
👉 Previous year GATE-XE papers.
Avoid to refer standard textbook during this first phase of preparation of test.
Studying from text book will help you when you will be selected for interview round.
All the best
