The Senate on Tuesday blocked the latest Democratic-led Iran War
Powers resolution, which attempted to force an end to the conflict in the Middle East even as President Donald Trump attempts to do so through a memorandum of understanding.
The president announced Sunday that the United States and Iran have reached a peace deal that was signed electronically that day and will be signed physically in a formal ceremony on Friday.
The Senate failed to advance the resolution in a 47-48 split that saw four Republicans join all Democrats in voting in favor of the resolution except for Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman. Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Rand Paul of Kentucky broke ranks to support the legislation.

Explosive-laden drones were planned to strike buildings near the event to spark mass panic and force a crowd evacuation.
Fleeing attendees would then be directed toward a pre-staged SNIPER TEAM to shoot people as they ran.
There was reportedly a possible “second wave” where attackers would storm the White House gates amid the chaos.
The FBI learned of the threat on June 10, 2026, through Signal chat messages. Investigators identified 23 people involved in discussions about the plot (from analysis of one suspect’s phone and related communications).
An initial arrest was made in Cincinnati, Ohio, via a search warrant. Multiple additional suspects were taken into custody (reports indicate at least five people in total as of June 16). Some suspects had traveled to Fredericksburg, Virginia, for final preparations.

The FBI said it had thwarted a potential threat ahead of the Ultimate Fighting Championship's Freedom 250 event at the White House and has multiple people in custody.
Fox News Digital cited unidentified sources as saying the alleged plot involved using explosive-laden drones to hit buildings near the event.
"On June 10, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat to the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. involving individuals outside of the National Capital Region," FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement postedon X.
Patel did not specify how many people were in custody after the multistate operation on the alleged planned attacks.
Five people were in custody and 23 were identified as part of a network of plotters, Fox News Digital reported.
