❗️ADDITIONAL INFO ❗️ ========================= The original PACT Act was called the Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act and was made a law in 2010 following United States v. Stevens. The 2019 Act was written to fix some loopholes in the original that could let people get away with torturing animals. One of the updates changes the definition of crushing to include "conduct that, if committed against a person and in...the United States, would violate section 2241 or 2242" which define sexual abuse. The prosecution in the first case argued that Section 2242 (2) (b), which makes it illegal to "engage in a sexual act with another person if that person is physically incapable of declining participation in...that sexual act", applies to all bestiality. Two of the exhibits put forth by the prosecution are academic papers: "The Theory of Consent in Sexual Abuse on Animals" by Ravi Singh Chhikara and Harleen Kaur, and "Rethinking bestiality: Towards a concept of interspecies sexual assault" by Piers Beirne, which are quoted just below this and have also been uploaded here. "Bestiality must be condemned because animals cannot give consent in a way human can readily understand, or cannot resist humans in any significant way due to their sometimes-docile nature or other human-bred features." (Chhikara, Kaur) "Bestiality should be understood as interspecies sexual assault because: (1) human-animal sexual relations almost always involve coercion; (2) such practices often cause animals pain and even death; and (3) animals are unable either to communicate consent to us in a form that we can readily understand or to speak out about their abuse." (Beirne) A third exhibit is this news article filled with the usual lot of bad statistics that try to paint all zoos as violent rapists. It is worth noting that they might have used Florida or Georgia's existing anti-bestiality laws in a less serious case. It is also worth noting that bestiality was offhandedly said to be against 2242 in United States v. Richards way back in 2014, though a serious legal argument was never put forth to defend that claim, and it held little meaning on its own.

❗️PLEASE READ IN FULL ❗️ ========================= Bestiality is felony worth 7 years in prison in the United States under the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act. ----------------------- We have argued about that law and if it makes bestiality a federal crime or not since before it was signed in 2019. Until it was argued in court, it was not clear one way or the other. A few days ago I found out it had happened. Today I found out that it had happened again. In the first case they explicitly argue that what he did was rape and illegal because she was an animal, not because she was drugged. In the second case, he tried to have the "crushing" charges dismissed arguing the law was vague and an average person could not know that it applied to consensual bestiality, but was shut down after a back and forth with the court. He ended up pleading guilty, likely after being told he could not win a trial. Note that both men were also charged with child pornography. ----------------------- From USA v. Madden (21-cr-20248) ----------------------- Judge: "So is the animal crushing here the images that you've already told me about of the penetration of the dogs?" Prosecution: "Yes, your Honor." Judge: "Or is it literally a crushing of an animal?" Prosecution: "It is not, your Honor. It is essentially a statute that is entitled Animal Crushing, but it criminalizes bestiality, and there is one other section that would allow you to commonly read it as such, but that is the theory, your Honor." ----------------------- From USA v. Vincent (3:2021cr00010) ----------------------- Vincent: "It cannot be fairly said that beyond a reasonable doubt, it is clear if or when the statute would apply to non-forcible sex acts with a dog." The Court: "Nothing in the statute indicates, and no court has ever held, that creation of a video depicting sexual abuse of animals is lawful,” "The Court need not address his ponderings about canine consent to sexual acts...it will be up to the jury...to determine whether...he violated the statute." ----------------------- There is no need to panic. In many ways, this is not new. Bestiality has always been illegal. ----------------------- Even where laws against bestiality were not on the books, you would be charged with animal cruelty or something else if caught. But the fact that this law can be, and now has been, used that way is worth talking about. As far as I know, no one has been charged or convicted under PACT just for owning or sharing zoo porn, though that should be just as illegal. ----------------------- I have uploaded the full criminal complaint, the court transcript, the indictment, and the three related exhibits submitted by the prosecution for the first case. I also linked to some of the case text from the second, and uploaded a bit of the court's objection to his motion to dismiss the "crushing" charges. I am not a legal expert. Dog whistles are a form of secret code. The ζ sign is an example used by zoos in furry groups. They aren't always bad, but many bad actors use them to share abuse or to try and hide in places they aren't welcome.

❌ Do not in any way use our chat to solicit hookups or privately share media. This includes your profile! Don't ask for other people's locations or bring up yours randomly.

This is to stop people from networking to trade abusive media.

❌ Don't give out sensitive personal info, including selfies/nudes.

These are public chats, and it is not safe!
