7 Powerful lessons from this book 👆🏻
1. Start small: This is the core principle of the book. Don't overwhelm yourself with ambitious goals. Instead, begin with tiny, achievable actions that take minimal effort, like reading one page or doing one push-up. These micro-actions create momentum and make change feel enjoyable.
2. Make it easy: Design your mini-habits to be so effortless that you can't resist doing them. If reading feels daunting, start with just one paragraph. If exercise feels intimidating, do one jumping jack. Making habits frictionless increases the likelihood of success.
3. Celebrate every win: Even the smallest accomplishments deserve recognition. Celebrate each completed mini-habit, no matter how insignificant it seems. This reinforces positive behavior and keeps you motivated on your journey.
4. Consistency is key: The magic of mini-habits lies in their daily repetition. Even a tiny action done consistently will bring remarkable results over time. Aim for consistent progress, not occasional bursts of effort.
5. Don't obsess over perfection: Perfection is paralyzing. Focus on doing your mini-habit, not doing it perfectly. Small slip-ups are inevitable, so embrace them as learning opportunities and keep moving forward.
6. Make it fun: If your mini-habit feels like a chore, you're less likely to stick with it. Find ways to make it enjoyable. Listen to music while exercising, read something you love, or turn into a game.
7. Scale up gradually: Once your mini-habit becomes ingrained, slowly increase the difficulty or duration. If you do five squats every day, try six tomorrow. This incremental growth ensures sustainable progress and avoids burnout.

Communication Technologies is part of UPSC syllabus. Previously UPSC has asked about LTE and VoLTE in Prelims. Hence the relevance of this video.

The concept of Remission:
- Prison is a State subject. As a result, prison rules of each State identify certain reformative and rehabilitative activities that the prisoners can undertake in order to earn remission in the form of days. The total number of days earned in remission is deducted from the actual sentence imposed by the court. Remission is rooted in the logic that, ultimately, prisons are meant to be rehabilitative spaces rather than simply being an instrument to carry out retributive punishment.
- In the context of life convicts, they necessarily have to serve a minimum of 14 years in prison before they can become eligible to apply for remission. An application does not guarantee remission and the setting off the earned remission against the punishment imposed by the courts.
- Each application has to be individually considered by a committee based on factors laid down by the Supreme Court in Laxman Naskar vs State of West Bengal (2000). These include examining whether the offence is an individual act of crime without affecting the society at large; chance of recurrence of crime; whether the convict has lost their potentiality in committing crime; whether there is any fruitful purpose of confining the convict any more; and socio-economic condition of the convict’s family.

✅ Note: In previous 2-3 years UPSC has asked questions from this area in Prelims such as State Prison Manual, Parole etc. hence this is important.
