In the Light of the Qur'ān

As the Ummah is subjected to the tyranny of the tyrants, the oppression of the oppressors, and the wrong doing of the wrongdoers, the question "why?" often comes to mind. However, as we search for an answer to this question, as well as for solutions to the current problems that we face, we should reflect deeply on Allāh's statement: وَكَذَٲلِكَ نُوَلِّى بَعۡضَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بَعۡضَۢا بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ ﴿١٢٩﴾ And thus We do make the wrongdoers supporters of one another, because of that which they used to earn {129}. 📘 Sūrah Al-An’ām [6] Imām Al-Qurtubī says: ويدخل في الآية جميع من يظلم نفسه أو يظلم الرعية ، أو التاجر يظلم الناس في تجارته أو السارق وغيرهم This Āyah includes everyone who wrongs himself or the people, as well as the trader who wrongs the people in his trading (with them), and the thief and others (like) them." [1] Imām Ibn Kathīr says: وقال بعض الشعراء : وما من يد إلا يد الله فوقها  ولا ظالم إلا سيبلى بظالم "A poet once said: 'There is no hand, but Allāh's Hand is above it, and no wrongdoer but will be tested by another wrongdoer'.'' While some chase death, understanding it to be merely the door through which one must walk in order to enter Jannah, ... ... As salāmu'alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh. Just a reminder: Today (the day of Jumu'ah) is from among the most excellent of our days ... Don't forget there is a special time on this blessed day during which a Muslim's Du'ā is not rejected: عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَكَرَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ فِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُوَافِقُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ، وَهْوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي، يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى شَيْئًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ ‏"‌‏.‏ وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ يُقَلِّلُهَا‏.‏ Abū Hurairah (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrated that Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) mentioned the day of Jumu'ah (Friday) and said, "During it there is an hour (opportune time), a Muslim doesn’t catch it while standing in prayer asking something from Allāh the Exalted, except that He will grant it to him." ﷽ Whenever the worldly affairs weigh you down, causing you to feel sadness or to fall into depression, remember that nothing in this world is permanent. Remember, this world is merely a means to achieve an aim, it is not the purpose for which you exist. And it will inevitably come to an end: إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ زِينَةً لَّهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ﴿٧﴾ وَإِنَّا لَجَاعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًا جُرُزًا ﴿٨﴾ Verily! We have made that which is on earth as an adornment for it, in order that We may test them as to which of them are best in deeds. {7} And verily!
