On Saturday, April 20th, the Bitcoin halving, one of the most significant events in the crypto industry in the last years, finally happened.
Let’s see how market reacted:
🔽 Just after the halving, the price dropped by 5.3% (down to $60,000).
🔼 Then, the price reversed and surged by 9% (reaching $66,000).
What to expect?
In theory, the halving shouldn’t affect Bitcoin’s price in the short term, but many traders anticipate significant profits in the coming months. After the three previous halvings, Bitcoin’s price increased roughly by 93, 30, and 8 times, respectively.
What’s a halving?
Bitcoin halvings occur roughly every 4 years, with each 210,000 blocks mined. As the name suggests, each halving event slashes the block rewards in half.
