ETH is showing more weakness than BTC, while higher-beta majors such as SOL have also been hit harder.
So what’s actually pushing crypto down?
🌍 🚀 GEOPOLITICAL RISK IS BACK
Renewed U.S.–Iran escalation has pushed Brent crude toward $95/barrel.
Higher oil → higher inflation risk → more pressure on rate-sensitive assets.
📈 🚀 BOND YIELDS ARE SURGING
The U.S. 10Y Treasury yield reached roughly 4.81%, its highest level in almost three years.
That’s not a friendly environment for risk assets.
🏦 🚀 THE FED IS BACK IN THE GAME
Markets are now pricing roughly a 67% probability of a 25 bps Fed hike on September 16, versus around 40% only a week ago.
And the next major test is coming:

| 14 | ☀️ BAYKRIPTO MORNING MARKET — SEPTEMBER 1
WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER. 🔥
New month. New opportunities.
But September is starting with a market that deserves some respect — because right now crypto isn’t trading alone. Macro is driving the game again.
🔃 BITCOIN — ~$78.5K
BTC spent the night roughly between $77.2K–$79.2K and is still holding above the key $78K area.
August closed with approximately +24% for Bitcoin, its strongest month since November 2024.
Now the question is simple:
Was August the beginning of another leg higher — or does September first need a reset?
📍 LEVELS I’M WATCHING
🟢 $77K–$78K → Immediate support zone
⚔️ $79K–$80K → First major reclaim area
🚀 Above $80K with strength → $81K–$82K comes back into focus
Losing $77K convincingly would make me much more defensive in the short term.
🔷 ETHEREUM — ~$2,470
ETH is recovering around the $2.45K–$2.47K area, but I still want to see whether it can build strength independently rather than simply following BTC.
No reason to scream “ALTSEASON” because a few coins pump.
Selective rotation ≠ altseason.
🌍 THE REAL STORY TODAY: MACRO
This is what traders should actually be watching:
🛢 Brent oil has moved above $90 amid renewed geopolitical tension.
📈 The U.S. 10Y Treasury yield has climbed to roughly 4.78%, its highest level since early 2025.
🏦 Markets have sharply increased expectations of a possible Fed rate hike in September.
Higher oil → more inflation pressure.
Higher yields → tighter financial conditions.
Tighter conditions → more pressure on risk assets.
And BTC is currently trying to hold ~$78K despite that environment.
📅 THIS WEEK MATTERS
The market now turns toward U.S. employment data ahead of the September 16 Fed decision.
A strong jobs report could reinforce the higher-for-longer / rate-hike narrative, while weaker data could relieve some of the pressure currently hitting risk assets.
🧠 BAYKRIPTO VIEW
September starts with BTC in a very interesting position:
Strong August performance + weak macro environment + BTC refusing to collapse.
That’s not a market where I want to blindly chase green candles.
I’m watching $77K–$78K below and $79K–$80K above.
Let the market show its hand first.

And the market is definitely not giving us a quiet monthly close.
🔴 BITCOIN — ~$78K
BTC briefly slipped toward $77K before recovering back around the $78K area.
Two things are putting pressure on risk assets right now:
🚀 Renewed geopolitical tension
U.S.–Iran tensions are back in focus, pushing oil higher and increasing risk-off pressure across global markets.
🚀 The Fed problem isn’t gone
Markets are still digesting the hawkish Fed message and the possibility that rates could remain restrictive — or even move higher — if inflation refuses to cooperate.
Translation?
Crypto is fighting macro again.
📊 ETF FLOWS JUST CHANGED
After a strong institutional buying streak, U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $202M in net outflows on Friday.
That ended a 9-day BTC ETF inflow streak.
But here’s where it gets interesting:
🟣 Ethereum ETFs moved the OTHER way.
ETH ETFs recorded roughly $102M in net inflows Friday, continuing their positive streak.
And across the full week:
🔃 BTC ETFs: +$924M
🟣 ETH ETFs: +$824M
So institutional demand hasn’t disappeared — capital allocation is becoming more selective.
👀 WHAT I’M WATCHING TODAY
BTC $77K–$78K → immediate battlefield.
Lose that area convincingly and $75K–$76K becomes much more important.
Reclaim $79K–$80K and the structure starts looking healthier again.
But there’s another reason today matters:
It’s the final day of August.
Monthly closes tell us much more than one random intraday wick.
After the massive move we saw this month, I’m watching where BTC actually closes August before getting aggressive in either direction.
September is coming. 👀
Protect capital. Don’t chase weekend volatility.
