#thoughts (at 2 am) plus a lil bit myself I remembered a time when I was really frustrated because of my school schedule back in 7th or 8th grade. Our school had a soccer (football) championship, and our team had made it to the semifinals. The games were after classes, but coincidentally, I didn't know about it because my classmates didn't tell me, making up an excuse about my strict schedule. This really hurt me, and I felt terrible about my rigid routine. Every day after school, I had something scheduled: language classes, debates, sports (hand-to-hand combat), and other activities. Even at home, I had numerous responsibilities because my parents were very demanding. It always felt like I was the only one facing such pressure. Of course, being human, I complained to my father about this. I expected a harsh response, but instead, he said: “Azamkhon, these things will pass, and one day you will be really happy for this. But today is your day to do them for yourself and your future.” On May 5th this year, standing in front of the Hungarian Parliament, I reflected on that football game. I was thinking:
If I had participated in that game and skipped my classes, would I be able to see this beauty now? Could I ride a bike through the most breathtaking forest views? Could I have seen the Balkan Sea, the Marmara Sea, the Black Sea, and others? Would I be sitting in the most aesthetic café with the most beautiful view of the city?
The answer was a definite “No.” Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice, and then achieve.
