UPSC CSE | Concise & Relevant Points
1. ECLGS 5.0 — MSME Credit Support 🔴
• Government-backed credit guarantee for businesses affected by external economic disruptions.
• Covers MSMEs, eligible non-MSMEs and scheduled passenger airlines.
• Implemented by NCGTC; aims to facilitate up to ₹2.55 lakh crore additional credit.
• GS-3: Economy/MSMEs.
2. ECLGS 5.0 — Key Prelims Facts
• Operational till 31 March 2027 or ₹2.55 lakh crore guarantee limit, whichever comes first.
• 100% guarantee for eligible MSMEs; 90% for eligible non-MSMEs.
• Loan tenure: 7 years, including 2-year moratorium.
• As of 20 Aug 2026: 6.74 lakh guarantees, worth ₹2.50 lakh crore.
3. SAIL — Steel Sector Growth 🟠
• SAIL recorded its best-ever August production of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel.
• August crude steel production grew 8% YoY to 1.68 MT.
• Relevant for manufacturing, infrastructure and industrial growth.
