*Are you struggling to get resume shortlist?* Resume shortlisting is the first step in the recruiting process. And if you have not been FORMATTING it right, how will you pass stage 1 of the race? Fix it now before it's too late. I'm here to help, here's how to do it right. ➡️ Choose a clean layout Go for an uncomplicated and chronological template that is easy to comprehend and navigate. - Name & Contact - Education - Experience - Extra Curricular /Certifications - Skills ➡️ Keep it concise - Short descriptions of your experience in pointers rather than writing in paragraphs. - Delete unnecessary information that is irrelevant to the role you're applying for. - Only include recent and remarkable work experience. Don't add any experience that is more than 4 years old. ➡️ Let your resume breathe - Add tables for each heading. - Leave some space after the margins of the table lines, the borders and after each table. - Don't clutter the boxes with numerous pointers. Keep 2- 3 pointers at maximum. ➡️ Make it ATS friendly To save time, companies have resorted to running all your resumes through Applicant Tracking System or ATS. To stand out, use keywords. - Directly from the job description. - Don't use keywords inappropriately, that is, out of context. - Don't overuse them. For example: Requirement: HR Manager Your Experience: HR Executive at XYZ - Managed the recruitment and selection process - Supervised HR Coordinator and tracked the performance of employees - Improved employee satisfaction by 25% etc ➡️ Follow reverse chronological order - Always start from your recent achievements/experience / educational qualification. For example: Sales Intern at XYZ - Led a team of 7 members and contributed to 40% of the raised funds for x event in June 2023 - Converted 100+ leads in 2 weeks in April 2023 Some Tips: 👉 Don't use different fonts and text colours. Stick to one font and size throughout. For example, Times New Roman and size 12. 👉 Don't use bold or italics excessively. Only use it for headings. 👉 Use short sentences and bullet points. 👉 Limit your resume to 1 page only.
