#Smartdaythe13th Part 8, Jason takes Manhattan So bad, easily the worst of the franchise so far. It's a nonsensical acid trip. ...But I had more fun with this one than all but part 6, shamefully. Honestly it gets way worse after they get to New York...an hour into the film.. which is crazy, because that was the entire selling point of this clickbait of a movie. 7/10 but only for pure entertainment value, objectively it's like a 3/10

2	Part 7, the new blood Peaks and valleys tbh The MPAA removed almost all the gore from this movie, so the kills have very little impact. And most of the events feel contrived. Like half the movie is characters running through random directions in the woods, and then somehow finding the same places as other people. But it's got an interesting idea and some of the best shots in the series, and decent characters. 7/10	44
3	F13th Part 6, Jason Lives! Still my favorite of the series, at least so far in the marathon. Just pure glorious slasher cheese. I love how Jason is treated like a mythological creature in this one too. He even acts like he knows his new power after coming from the dead. 9/10	51

6	Part 5 A new beginning The most controversial movie in the series, loved and hated by all...I like it fine enough. It's biggest crime is wasting the potential of a 'who done it' with the copycat killer. The guy who did it isn't really even a character by the end; so they had to give a big Psycho style exposition dump at to tell the viewer his motivation. Still as fun as the others, but it has the most missed potential so far. 7/10	65
7	F13 Part 4 """the final chapter""" I can see why most fans consider this the 1st or 2nd best in the whole franchise. It's brisk, bloody, has an interesting main character for once, and has Jason at his best lit & most aggressive state yet. Kinda funny it's called the finale when there's 8 whole movies after it. I'm gonna be watching these for a while... Easy 8/10 at least	63
8	Fiday the 13th 3-D This is probably the most bog standard traditional movie in the series. If you think of F13th, it's usually this or part 6. Originally it was my least favorite, still might be, but it's got more merit than I remember. And it completed Jason's look with the classic hockey mask, which definitely felt good after two movies without it. Plus, you got a Godzilla reference in there too, how can ya go wrong? 6/10	68
9	On to F13th part 2! I enjoyed this one, although not as much as the first. It's definitely the most confusing of the series lore wise; because the answer for how Jason actually came back to life thanks to Evil dead stuff didn't come around until movie 9 and a crossover comic. Plus the ending is also confusing because there's a vague dream sequence that had no set start during the third act. Where is Paul? Is he safe? Is he alright? Still really solid though! 7/10	77
10	Started a Marathon of the Friday the 13th films for spooky season, so I'm gonna post mini reviews with each one! Starting with the original: I liked it quite a lot as far as generic Slashers go (Though it gets a pass as one of the first). Pamela absolutely carries the third act though, especially after the middle drags a bit. Otherwise it's a fun classic with a decent twist for those unfamiliar. 7/10	94

19	Something kinda unsung about modern movies is the shift to using more and more practical effects again. Green rooms and abused cgi workers are still a thing, but that seems to be retreating a little. We're in an era with full sized xenomorph and rocky alien animatronics jumping around on real physical sets, with real puppeteers; With planned out vfx so designs aren't changed 20,000 times in post, burning everyone and the budget out. Movie productions feel more like movie productions again. Nature is healing, statement.	112
