Hey hey, here are your contenders. There will be two rounds of this since a new person has joined. At the end, I will put out a poll, and tomorrow morning I will announce the two people who got the highest votes. Then we'll do another image challenge to define who's the winner. The Last Magical Commute Create a cinematic animated movie poster in a Disney Pixar inspired 3D animation aesthetic. Show a busy, chaotic underground train station during evening rush hour. The station should feel packed with commuters, movement, advertisements, phones, luggage, coffee cups, trains arriving and people rushing in every direction. At the centre of the chaos, a young person stands on the platform as a normal-looking train arrives. But something impossible is happening. Magical light is bursting through the train windows. Inside the carriages are glimpses of impossible worlds, floating islands, glowing forests, enormous celestial creatures, cities above the clouds and distant galaxies. Nobody else seems to notice. The goal is to reconstruct the prompt-generation request that a user could have given to ChatGPT, such that ChatGPT would reasonably produce the supplied prompt.

Method

Work backwards:

Supplied Prompt → Function → Requirements → User Intent → Original Prompt Request

Identify:

1. What the prompt does.
2. What the user needed it to do.
3. Which requirements are essential to achieving that goal.
4. Which details are likely prompt-engineering implementation choices rather than original user requirements.
5. The simplest natural-language request that explains the final prompt.

Then perform a reconstruction test:

«If this reconstructed request were given to ChatGPT, would it reasonably produce the supplied prompt?»

If not, revise the reconstruction.

Reconstructed Original Request

Write the most likely request the user originally gave to ChatGPT.

It must be written as a real user request for creating the supplied prompt, not as an analysis or description.

Why This Request

Briefly explain the strongest evidence in the supplied prompt that supports the reconstruction.

Confidence

Give a percentage from 0 to 100 and identify any important uncertainty.

Alternative

Only provide an alternative if another substantially different original request is genuinely plausible.

Rules

- Reconstruct the cause, not merely the effect.
- Do not simply paraphrase the supplied prompt.
- Do not assume every implementation detail was requested by the user.
- Preserve requirements that are necessary to explain the final prompt.
- Prefer the simplest request capable of producing the supplied prompt.
- Use evidence from the supplied prompt.

Now, tomorrow I will give you the image challenge, and here's what's going to work. If it ends up being a draw, I will do a second image challenge. That one will be two points, and whoever wins that one will win the link or the code for Pro. Just so nobody forgets, this is a two-month subscription to Pro, meaning it's not just one, it's two whole months of Pro.

Hey, congratulations! @zahiri_emely Here’s my feedback so that everyone can learn and grow. **@zahiri_emely** Your prompt wins because it was simple, short, and fulfills the purpose. It wasn’t too extensive, and it still provided and reached the goal. **@macsyyyyyy** Your one, while still good, was a bit extensive in what it did. For some language models like Claude that count tokens and re-read conversations, if you’re wanting to use this, your prompt within a pre-existing chat will drain tokens. It will be very confusing to read. Still good if you want to really understand your prompt deeply, but for a quick use one, it needs to be simple but complex.

One more hour. I'm going to give it till 6:55 for anybody else who wants to have a good try at this, as some people have DM'd me their prompts instead of putting it into the channel. If the two submissions that I see are here, I will go with them.

Two pro tips, roughly similar to each other: 1. To get a little bit better responses, ask the question in three words: "Are you sure?" I'm not going to tell you what it does. 2. Add a fourth word with a bit of an explanation to it: "Are you sure that?" and then give it an explanation. "Are you sure that it does X, Y, and Z? Are you sure that this can do this?" Then send it.
