| 3 |  Mimar Sinan’ın, camide yaptığı akustik çalışmaları ile ilgili ilginç bir hikaye de anlatılır. Mimar Sinan, bu konuya çok vakit harcar ve inşaat beklenenden uzun sürer. Mimar Sinan’ı çekemeyen bazı çevreler, Kanuni Sultan Süleyman’a, Mimar Sinan’ın keyfine baktığını ve hatta caminin içinde nargile tüttürdüğü söylerler. Buna çok sinirlenen ve küplere binen Padişah, hemen camiye gider. Mimar Sinan’ı nargile içerken görür ve hemen bir açıklama ister. Mimar Sinan nargilenin içinde tütün bulunmadığı, yalnızca suyun fokurdama sesinin, camide nasıl duyulduğu anlamak için yaptığı akustik bir çalışma olduğunu açıklar.
Camii’nin iç mekanı estetik açıdan, oldukça ferah ve sade olarak tasarlanmış olmasına rağmen, ihtişamlı bir havası da var.
Camii’nin içinde hat sanatının en güzel örnekleri sergileniyor. Bu eserler o dönemin en iyi ustalarından olan Ahmet Karahisari ve en az onun kadar başarılı çalışmalar sergileyen yetenekli öğrencisi Hasan Çelebi tarafından yapılmış. Kubbede Nur Suresi’ni görüyoruz. | 154 |
