26 U.S. Code § 4945 - Taxes on taxable expenditures Hello Non-profits. I wonder of you all were subject to an audit of your voter registration drives would meet these criteria? Would be a shame if some of you were in violation of US Code 4945. IRC 4945(f) requires that: The sponsoring organization of the voter registration drive is a 501(c)(3) public charity. The voter registration drive is nonpartisan, is carried out in at least five different states, and spans more than one election cycle. The foundation does not place conditions on the grant specifying that it be used in a particular location (political subdivision) or during a specific election cycle. Any decisions as to sites must be made by the 501(c)(3) public charity. A minimum of 85% of the sponsoring organization’s income is spent directly on the activities for which it was organized and operated. A minimum of 85% of the sponsoring organization’s support, other than gross investment income, is contributed by exempt organizations, the general public, or government units. Moreover, one exempt organization cannot provide more than 25% of the sponsor’s support. This is called “voter engagement” not campaigning, which would be illegal for non-profits of course. They “engage voters” to advance policy ends instead of campaigning directly. 😳 URGENT! Please share!!! I have had several reports from people claiming their in-person vote for Senator MIKE LEE was changed to Becky Edwards. The only option for in-person voting is to use voting machines at the county, which prints a receipt showing your votes. I’m told the printed receipts reveal this unauthorized shift. More concerning is the possibility of vote shifts even AFTER the receipt is printed. The machines are programmed with functionality to do exactly that… switch votes. Funded by Democracy Alliance, Google, Open Society Foundations to name a few. The center of this hub based in Oakland has a coffer of 32MM with millions more dispersed throughout the country. They claim to have 200,000 volunteers that wrote 17MM letters in 2020 that increased turnout in the presidential election of 126,000 votes. Interesting strategy to impact voter turnout. Maybe we should start negating this with a letter writing initiative of our own? My own personal opinion is that if this was a self organizing group of volunteers, great, that is activism.
