===== https://habr.com/ru/post/452128/ ===== #component #article #radhard

I've been meaning to introduce you to the articles of Valeriy Shunkov, brilliant scientist and engineer, designer of the radhard ICs. It's an amazing article that you will definitely read in one shot. I truly recommend you to reserve an hour for thoughtful reading. For those who are really interested in the topic of a tombstouning here is an additional, completely outstanding material: quite a large article that describes the majority of (if not all) aspects that define tombstoning effect. As you may have noticed, the topic is slightly larger than "use thermal reliefs" recommendation :) ===== Для особо интересующихся темой есть дополнительный потрясающий материал: довольно объемная статья описывает большинство аспектов (если не все), влияющих на эффект tombstoning'а.

Quite an odd moment when the article in general is OK, but some thoughts and ideas in it are simply incorrect (see attached picture). And still I'd recommend it since it contains quite a lot of useful information for the beginners. ===== https://resources.altium.com/p/pcb-components-assembly-faults-tombstoning-and-resurrection ===== #DFM #tombstoning #PCB

Oh, the survey results are almost fifty-fifty. The only argument on the topic that were discussed earlier, that would make sense to me, were found in Kraig Mitzner's book called "Complete PCB Design Using OrCAD Capture and PCB Editor". "The inner layers are patterned prior to bonding the cores together. The outer layers are patterned later in the process, after the cores have been bonded and cured and most of the holes have been drilled. Because the outer layers are etched later and copper foil is typically less expensive than copper cladding, the stack-up shown in Figure (right) is more widely used." Obviously, it also requires fewer amount of the manufacturing steps. p.s. if you have any info and/or thoughts about it, feel free to write me directly @VladimirKomissarov88 ===== По результатам опроса оказалось, что голоса распределились почти поровну.
