Miami is about to get a new skyscraper ā Designed by #kohnpedersenfox (KPF), the 193-metre (635-foot) Tower 36 will offer āultra-luxury office spaceā complete with dramatic views of Biscayne Bay, Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
The buildingās #podium is set to include retail #space on the ground floor, bicycle and car parking for tenants, and a restaurant on its #landscaped roof.
In a statement #KPF Design Principal Robert Whitlock explained: āOur design for Tower 36 draws inspiration from its site adjacent to Biscayne Bay and the causeway, as well as Miamiās culture of design embodied in the nearby Design District. The #architectural #language of the tower utilizes an elegant, tapered form, sculpted to reveal outdoor terrace floors in a geometry that conveys a sense of #activity and #motionā.

When it comes to residential swimming pools, there are several factors to consider like the #size and #shape of the pool. A larger pool will provide more space for swimming and activities, but it will also require more maintenance and be more expensive to install and operate. The #shape of the pool can also affect its #functionality and visual appeal. A classic rectangular pool is functional and easy to build, but a more creative #shape, like a #freeform pool or a lap #pool, can add a unique touch to your back- yard.

China Hangzhou E-sports Center, designed by CSADI, was inspired by the concept of an āinterstellar vortex,ā representing the motion track #generated by the gravitational force between bodies in the galaxy.
The original shape of the building is cut by a #spiraling #sky #promenade interspersed in the block, giving it the appearance of a #naturally #growing #organism in the landscape. The audience hall, supported by #48 steel beams with variable cross-sections and inclined columns, surrounds the central #circular competition hall, connecting different floors into a massive, flowing space. Large and small #skylights shaped like comets introduce sunlight and air into the auditorium, creating an #ethereal and space-like atmosphere.

Wind plays a significant role in architecture, and it is crucial for architects to study it due to its #impact on #building #design and occupant comfort.
Not only is #wind load analysis essential for structural integrity but also #wind affects the thermal comfort and #acoustics of any building.
Understanding #wind #patterns can enable us to create structures that are #functional, #sustainable, #comfortable, and safe for the building occupants.

Architects should familiarize themselves with different #types of windows as they play a crucial role in the overall design, #functionality, and #performance of a building. Windows enable natural #light, natural #ventilation, and an outside view as well as the passage of sound.
A number of #critical aspects must be #considered when choosing a window for a building, including the temperature, location and size of the room, the wind direction, the utility of the room, and the #architectural & #structural point of view.
Incorporating appropriate windows can #enhance occupant #comfort, promote sustainability, and contribute to the overall #aesthetic appeal of the structure.

Words that architects are scared of!
For most #students of architecture, the first few years of learning #involve a demanding crash course in architectural #jargon. From learning terms as obscure as "gestalt" to redefining your understanding of ideas as simple as "space," learning the architectural lexicon is one of the most #mind-bending processes involved in becoming a designer.
At the same time that scare the absolute hell of every single architect and designer! Today, letās take a look at some of those words.
