7 ingredients of great story emails – I've moved the launch of my new story email course to the 9th of July. This is because I traveled for a few days and could not finish the course. Everything will be ready before the new launch date. So stay tuned. Now back to the 7 ingredients of great story emails. #1- Characters Your story should have characters or person(s) the story is about. The person or character could be similar to your target audience or not. 2- Plot This is the circumstance or event happening in the story. Your story should have a plot or mimi plot. 3- Conflict Stories are only interesting if there is a conflict. A conflict could be a problem or a challenge the character is facing or trying to overcome. This conflict could be similar to what the target audience is facing. 4- Transition Transitions help you connect your story to what you sell. It helps you move from storytelling to selling your offer. You need to know how to easily transition when you write story emails. 5- Open Loops Open loops attract and keep attention. It's what Hollywood does when they start a movie from a fighting or action scene… Or when there's suspense right before the end of an episode of a TV series. You can create an open loop in your email by starting your story in the middle of the story. This is a powerful tool for writing story emails. 6-Dialogue “Did you eat this morning?” “No,” he replied. I walked up to him and handed him a bottle of coca cola. He stretched his right hand and collected the drink. “ Thank you”. “You're welcome,” I replied . — This is an example of a simple dialogue. Dialogue makes your story come alive like it's happening right in front of you. Sprinkle dialogues in your emails and copy. 7- Show, Don't Tell This is the use of descriptive words and language in your stories. For example , instead of saying… The boy was shocked when he saw the money in the bag. You can say … The boy's jaw almost dropped to the floor when he saw the money in the bag. The first one is Telling , the second is Showing. Big question… Should every story email have these 7 ingredients? No. But the more, the better.
