As they have so many times before, the Priests of Christ's Church will tread upon the defeated banners of revolutionaries who wage war on the Church of Christ. The Double Headed Eagle will conquer the snake of Gadsden, Saint George will slay the Red dragon and the Cross of Christ will smash the Synagogue. Liberalism will be crushed under its monuments to sin. Orthodoxy will win!

But the war of which St. John the Russian spoke three times is the 3rd World War and not a local war, because those occur all the time. Christianity is painful, very painful. It is not correct when we take it as a religion of well-being and comfort. Once a novice came up to Elder Paisios and said, "I want prayer to give me peace, serenity and silence." To which the Elder answered him, "What do you seek? Nirvana or Christ?" Christ will bring the pain of the entire world with Him. Are you ready to accept Christ Who will come and disturb your peace? Because He is inseparable from the pain of humankind.
