3. Christianity was introduced into Axum which is modern day Ethiopia by a Syrian named Frumentius and Aedusius. Once rescued, they were sent to the king of Ethiopia called king Ella Amida. When they king died, the Queen invited them to rule with him and they took the opportunity to bring Christianity from Egypt to Axum. Firstly, the introduction of Christianity paved way for occupational activities for the people. Christianity spread the knowledge of craftworks, architecture and farming. They also introduced other occupational and technical skills such as gold and silver workings as well as weaving. Secondly, introduction of Christianity spread missionary activities. This inspired the monks of the Ethiopian Church to embark upon missionary activities. Among the towns converted were the Enarya which was noted for Gold and kafta who was noted for coffee. Thirdly, Christianity also created a deep bond between Ethiopia and the coptic Church of Egypt. These two churches became closely and deeply bound in respect of doctrine and organisation.
