Inflation is not the same everywhere at any given time, and it will not be the same going into the future.
Consider France, Great Britain, and Germany... all have experienced hyperinflation events in their past, and all survive today as leading powers.
A US dollar hyperinflation would wreak havoc across the globe, but it will not affect everybody in the same way.
Those who stack silver and other tangible assets will be able to ride out the worst of the inflation.
Discussion around a debt default always revolves around which fake and gay fiat currency is to be used for repayment.
What ever happened to the gold that Russia is said to be holding, and why is that not considered an option for debt repayment?
If the foreign bond payments are defaulted on this week, then after a one month grace period there will be international creditors taking legal action.
Eventually it seems that those gold reserves will have to start changing hands.

It's painful to watch the belt sander scene, but the entire process really is quite beautiful 👌🏻

Repost from Inflation Today
Investment property is one of the worst hedges against inflation. Wage inflation never keeps up with price inflation, so real rents fall, and that's assuming the tenant is able to continue to pay rent despite the job losses inflation brings. Maintenance costs alone will destroy rental properties, now add in crime like copper wire theft and rent controls.
I've seen some clever property folk say they plan on flipping property into precious metals once hyperinflation gets going, but the math doesn't work. From the day you accept an offer to the day you get the cash from the sale of the property your fiat will lose a hell of a lot of value.
Hold property to retain wealth once the new monetary system comes in? Bad idea. Property prices will not behave the same way they did under the fiat system, not even close.
Weimar germany:
“In 1922 and 1923, because of the rapid depreciation of the mark, the old house-rents became ridiculous. Consequently the value of houses fell considerably. Many landlords, for whom houses were now valueless because the rents did not cover maintenance expenses, were forced to sell them.”

Admin Notes: Whenever we are talking about the 🇺🇸 United States Of America, it's a complex talk. But once you add money to it, it gets even weirder.
Admin Notes 2: Very likely, Jewish-Americans are included with White-Americans in this graph, bumping the income up.
Price controls lead to physical shortages, every single time.
Either the governments watch their credibility evaporate as food and energy prices rise, or they exacerbate inflation by subsidizing food and energy.
The end result is the same regardless of which path they choose... price controls will result in severe political instability.

Negative holding costs create a loss of purchasing power over long periods of time.
Silver and gold have negative holding costs associated mainly with vault storage options.
Real estate is subject to taxes and maintenance.
Stocks and bonds have armies of suits leeching off investors and driving fancy cars.
Cryptos have electric consumption, servers, and associated hardware.
Each asset class has negative holding costs, and only silver and gold allow you the option to completely circumvent those costs.

That same 6 bedroom Weimar house would be approximately 400 ounces of silver using 2022 prices.
The Deutschmark wasn't the world reserve currency, so it's not an apples to apples comparison, but still worth noticing how a little patience can pay off bigtime.
