It’s not the first time I’m saying this, build a story bank. If an Ivy university asks, “What challenges have you faced?”, how will you answer deeply if you have no real life experience? How can you respond honestly if your entire life has only been about IELTS and SAT scores? Your stories become brighter, stronger, and more powerful when they come from real action, from a passion project you truly lived through, not something invented for an application. So please, start building that life now. Start a project that gives you confidence, curiosity, and meaning. Not tomorrow. Today. Right now. Sit down and brainstorm: What triggers you? What problem makes you angry or excited? What solution could you bring to the world? This is exactly what I teach my students in the full mentorship program starting from 8th grade, to grow experiences first, and essays second. @ttprogress

This year our Common App essays took a completely different direction. I worked with every student individually, sitting for hours, listening to their stories, almost like conducting a psychological analysis of their life experiences. I wanted to understand not only what they had achieved, but how they think, what they fear, what shaped them, and what kind of person they are becoming. And you know what I discovered? Each student’s life carried its own unique rhythm, different ups and downs, different perspectives, different ways of seeing the world. No two stories were alike. My task was to translate that individuality into the right strategy: to match character, skills, and achievements with the right university list. In some students I clearly saw Stanford values; in others, the spirit of liberal arts colleges or research universities. That is how we adapted every essay for every university differently. As a result, each student applied to around 20 universities, with applications built not from templates, but from their real voices. It was tremendous work. Exhausting, emotional, and deeply personal. But I am sure it was worth it. Now we wait for the results, with hope and faith in every story we helped to tell. @ttprogress

I’ve been reading a lot since our intense admission cycle ended. Why? Because every essay we help create demands more than grammar and structure, it requires understanding another person’s experience, emotions, and inner logic. To guide a student well, we need depth: the ability to see the world through their eyes and help them shape honest, thoughtful conclusions that resonate with Ivy and Oxbridge values. Our role is not to decorate stories, but to help students discover meaning, to turn experiences into insights, and insights into authentic voices. If you dream of top universities, make reading a habit. Especially philosophy, biographies, and reflective literature. These books teach you how to think, question, and articulate ideas, exactly what the best universities are looking for. In the end, admission is not about perfect English. It’s about mature thinking. And mature thinking grows from reading. @ttprogress

I talk a lot about power of networking. The way you show yourself, the way you demonstrate your values and your skills will always give its results in long term. Most of the cases our student come from the same schools just because they share what the are doing and how they are being served. They talk and share. Same happens about their passion projects. They work on their passion projects and the students from our mentorship program join them and make the project even better, broader and bigger. I am proud of my students. I’m proud of the platform we are building for our students, bringing them together, building networks and creating friendly atmosphere.

This means, tourists visas B1/B2, and student visas ARE NOT AFFACTED. Let’s not panic.

Affected visa types are following: Major Immigrant Visa Categories Family-Based Visas: For relatives of U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs). Immediate Relatives: Spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents of U.S. Citizens (no annual limit). Family Preference: More distant relatives (e.g., married children, siblings of citizens; spouses/children of LPRs) with annual limits. Employment-Based Visas: For workers with specific skills or investors. EB-1: Priority Workers (extraordinary ability, outstanding professors/researchers, multinational executives). EB-2: Professionals with Advanced Degrees or Exceptional Ability. EB-3: Skilled Workers, Professionals, and Other Workers. EB-4: Certain Special Immigrants (e.g., religious workers). EB-5: Immigrant Investors creating jobs. Diversity Visa (DV) Program: The "Green Card Lottery" for individuals from countries with low U.S. immigration rates. Special Immigrant Visas: For unique cases, including religious workers, certain former U.S. government employees (like Afghans), and others. Adoption Visas: For orphans being adopted by U.S. citizens from outside the U.S..

Part 2 Work early on international and pre-collegiate programs. Summer programs at top universities matter. This year, our students were accepted to programs at Babson, Harvard, Stanford, Dartmouth, MIT, and many others. These programs show academic readiness, international competitiveness, and seriousness. Every selective program you get accepted to adds weight to your application, especially if you start early. Do not forget about Olympiads. Olympiads are a crucial part of your application because they show academic preparedness and competitiveness. I am not talking about private or internal Olympiads affected by bureaucracy or corruption. I am talking about real, competitive academic Olympiads that require time, preparation, and deep knowledge. Admissions officers know the difference. And finally, the most important thing. Even if you do everything right, rejection can still happen. Please remember that your university offer does not define your value. A top university acceptance is an opportunity, not your identity. If you feel burnout, pause and recover. If you face rejection, do not correlate it with your self-worth. Your journey is bigger than one admission cycle. Good luck to everyone entering the next admission cycle. @tt_progress

My final insights from Fall 2026 admission cycle: Part 1 Why This Year Our Common App Strategy Was Different This year, our Common App strategy changed completely. Instead of submitting the same Common App essay to every university, we rewrote the main essay for each school individually. Harvard received one version. UPenn received another. Yale received a different one. The same approach applied to supplemental essays. Why? Because universities are not looking for the same student. One story may show leadership, social responsibility, and care for community. Another story may highlight grit, resilience, and strength of character. A third may demonstrate deep intellectual curiosity and independent thinking. The student is the same, but the lens is different. That is why tailoring matters. Every year, I tell my students the same thing: your passion project is everything. One strong project can generate dozens of Common App stories and multiple supplemental essay angles. If you are working on a project, dealing with people, communicating with different communities, solving difficult and challenging tasks, then you already have stories. A passion project allows you to reflect on your journey, your conclusions, and your next steps. Admissions officers are not impressed by quantity; they are impressed by depth and meaning drawn from one project. So please, keep doing your passion project. Your passion project is everything. Before you even start writing your supplemental essays, keep in mind that you must have a story bank. A story bank is something you build over time while working on your profile and social brand. If one university asks eight different supplemental questions, you should have eight different stories. That means your life cannot be only about SAT and IELTS. Your life must have meaning, values, initiative, and contribution. This is why social branding and consistent activity building are critical. Another thing that was different this year is testing strategy. One important clarification I want to make: a high SAT score does not mean you can get a high IELTS score. That is the correlation I am talking about. These two exams measure completely different skills. SAT tests reasoning and logic; IELTS tests language fluency and communication. Please do not assume that a high SAT will automatically lead to a high IELTS. Treat IELTS as a separate goal and work on it intentionally. Please take your tests early. This is the same mistake I see every single year. Students postpone exams until December or January, right before deadlines. This blocks everything: university lists, supplemental essays, and scholarship strategies. My advice is simple. Start taking SAT from May. Take it in May, July, August, October, and December. Ideally, you should take your first SAT as early as 10th grade so that you have enough time later to focus on activities, social branding, and storytelling without panic. If you are an international student, you must start preparing early — ideally from 8th grade. This is how it works globally. In the U.S., many students start preparing from childhood. Their parents place them in strong schools early, they take advanced and non-standard courses, and their academic paths are built step by step. Once you reach 8th grade, you must take grades seriously, work on your English level, start SAT preparation gradually, and begin building activities. This is how you make sure you are ready, not just hoping. Be strategic with activities. Do not be repetitive. Do not spend years collecting hundreds of volunteer certificates, attending dozens of conferences, or doing MUN again and again only as a participant. If your role is always passive, it does not strengthen your profile. Instead, think about creating your own community project or your own volunteering initiative. One meaningful project with real impact is always stronger than a hundred passive activities. Work early on international and pre-collegiate programs.
