Anyone Can Do This
If you want to create such a ring, you don't have to be Sauron and forge it on Mount Orodruin. All you need is epoxy resin and affordable luminescent strontium aluminate powder. Strontium aluminate SrO∙Al₂O₃ (SrAl₂O₄) is a photoluminophore.
In other words, if you hold it in the light, it will glow up to several hours after such charging.

Robots Will Make Sure You Behave
Singapore has started testing robots to patrol public places and prevent bad behavior. However, unlike Detroit, Singapore ranks as one of the safest countries in the world, and local robots will do quite harmless things like watching the distance to avoid getting COVID, prohibiting smoking in crowded places and making sure not to throw bikes wherever people want.
Two patrol robots named Xavier, equipped with cameras whose images will be analyzed by Artificial Intelligence, will report "bad behavior" to the control center in real-time, and instruct the population on proper behavior.
Given the number of police cameras per capita, which is predicted to be 200,000 by 2030, the government intends to look into the most hidden corners of the city, without missing a single square meter.

Such miracles are possible if you know exactly what the Leidenfrost effect is
Here is a little trick: a grooved surface heated much higher than the boiling point of the liquid. That's where the effect, named after Johann Gottlob Leidenfrost, occurs.
An elastic layer of vapor forms under the liquid droplets. As it is a poor heat conductor, the droplet evaporates slowly. And the tricky grooving "pushes" it upwards.

Deionized Water
If you want to make such a bridge between the glasses, you have to fill them with water, not plain water, but deionized one. This is highly clean water, which contains almost no impurities. Its resistivity is 18 megohm-cm, and its purity equals 99.99999991%.
Placing electrodes in the glasses and applying high voltage to them allows deionized water to form a stable cylindrical bridge between the two glasses, as we see on the gif.

Test Tube Meat
Startup Eat Just has been officially selling chicken meat for several months now, and both stores and restaurants are buying from it.
☝🏻 No chicken was harmed during the meat production process: we are talking about the first industrial producer of "test tube meat":
"The idea was ... to start a food company that takes the animal, the live animal, out of the equation of the food system," the founder of startup Eat Just states.
And he got it!
Like many others, they started with imitating animal food via plant food, but in the end, they managed to fine-tune the process of growing meat from individual cells; the founder admits the hardest and longest part was not the technology, but the administrative procedures for allowing the product to be sold on a wide scale.
For now, they succeeded in going all the way in Singapore.

"Why Don't People Fly?"
– a Chinese farmer thought and created a backpack drone that lifts him up several meters.
The speed of the machine seems to be decent as well, so over time, when the prototype gets refined, it will be possible to travel long distances.

In The USA, Surgeons Successfully Transplanted A Fully Artificial Heart For The First Time
The device was developed by the French company CARMAT. It has four chambers and works from an external power source (it is connected by wires). The name sounds as futuristic as possible: TAH – total artificial heart.
TAH was transplanted to a 39-year-old man who suddenly developed heart failure. The heart fully simulates a human heart: it consists of two ventricular chambers and four biological valves, etc. The heart itself is created by the drive fluid the patient carries in a pouch.
The patient is stable and under observation at this point. By the way, the man has to carry a bag weighing almost 4 kg with the controller and two batteries, enough for about 4 hours of operation before they need to be recharged.
"The heart has already been approved for use in Europe, but it is designed as a temporary solution for people waiting for a real heart transplant, which could potentially affect many lives”.

Think Nothing Beats Amazon's Automated Warehouses?
Well, Ocado isn't lagging behind too!
The video shows a warehouse in England as large as seven soccer fields. There are rails on the top level, where 2300 robots move along the X- and Y-axes at 14 km per hour, often 5 mm apart. A robot arrives at the right cell, picks up a box and transports it to another cell.
On the lower level, other robots with "hands" pack the orders for the boxes.
How about that, Jeff Bezos?
