The NVDA 2026.3 Release Candidate is now available for testing! This is the LAST step before the final, stable release, and we encourage ALL users to download and test this and provide feedback.

🚀 VisionMate 4.0.0 is here! 🎉
The biggest update yet to the NVDA add-on that describes images with AI, right on your PC, no cloud needed.
✨ What's new:
🔍 Accessible Overlay (NVDA+Alt+O)
Some windows are completely inaccessible to NVDA. Turn this option on and VisionMate creates an accessible overlay on top of that window. All the options in it become accessible, so you can interact with the window yourself.
🪟 Describe the window (NVDA+Alt+W)
Get a spoken description of everything on the window you're in.
🏷️ Names for unnamed buttons (NVDA+Alt+B)
Buttons that NVDA reads as just "button" now get a name from their icon. You can add your own names too (NVDA+Alt+N).
❓ Ask about an image
After a detailed description, ask follow-up questions about the image.
🌑 Works with NVDA's screen curtain on
⚡ Faster than before
Descriptions now start much sooner.

Dear YouTube support team,
In the latest update of YouTube, when 2 advertisements pop up before or during a video, pressing the "Skip" button on the first ad does not skip the second one. Instead, I am forced to press "Skip" a second time for the second ad.
Previously, tapping "Skip Ad" on the first advertisement skipped both ads at once so the video could play immediately. Having to manually skip twice creates an unnecessary extra step.
Please restore the original functionality so tapping "Skip" once bypasses all advertisements and plays the video right away.
Hello everyone who has a problem like me? when watching a YouTube video, when the advertisement pops up 2 advertisements. The previous version I can press skip ad and the video will be played right away but right now, I need to press skip advertisement twice on advertisements individually. Please help report to the YouTube support team to resolve this issue quickly as possible.
🚀 Introducing VisionMate — Offline AI Image Descriptions for NVDA
What if your screen reader could help you understand images without sending them to the cloud? ♿️🤖
I've released VisionMate, an NVDA add-on for Windows that describes images and visual content locally on your computer.
🖼️ Understand images
🖥️ Get descriptions of your screen
📋 Describe clipboard images
🔎 Choose quick or detailed descriptions
🔹 No API key required
🔹 No image uploads to the cloud
🔹 Works offline after a one-time setup download of about 1.5 GB
For me, it's about making visual information more accessible and private, without depending on the cloud.
Requirements: Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and NVDA 2024.1+.
AI can sometimes miss or misread details, so please double-check anything important.
👉 Get VisionMate and learn more:

If you use NVDA or are interested in assistive AI, I'd love to hear your feedback.
And if you know someone who could benefit from VisionMate, please share this with them. ❤️

Hello BHP community. I am a fellow visually impaired developer from Delta Production. We wanted to share some early progress on a new accessible gaming experience we have been working on alongside our university studies.
While we continue developing our other audio games, our team has been building the engine for a highly realistic Android flight simulator called Echo Pilot. We are sharing this here today to demonstrate the sound design and accessibility mechanics currently in development.
Echo Pilot is being designed as a serious simulation. The aircraft respond to realistic physics and aerodynamics, meaning forces like lift, drag, and momentum must be genuinely managed. A distinctive feature we are building into this engine is support for fully controllable helicopters, which is rare in accessible flight simulators.
The project is audio-first, but we are designing it to be fully inclusive. After installing the core application, players will eventually be able to download an optional 3D graphics add-on. This ensures sighted players can experience the simulator visually and fly alongside blind players. Those who only need the accessible audio experience will not be required to download the extra visual data.
The simulator will also support downloadable real-world map add-ons based on exact geographical data, as well as additional aircraft sound packs. These packs will give different aircraft their own engines, cabin atmosphere, and operating character. In the future, we hope to build a shared-flight-deck system where two players can operate the same aircraft together as Captain and First Officer.
We are not releasing an application or any download links today. Instead, we are attaching a few narrated audio demonstrations below so the community can experience the engine, cabin announcements, pilot voices, and wind mechanics in their early stages.
These are early mono demonstrations and do not represent the final audio quality. We hope you enjoy hearing the mechanics we are building for the visually impaired community.
